An ostomy device that comprises an adhesive wafer for attaching to the skin around the stoma. The wafer comprises an adhesive layer having a proximal adhesive surface and a distal surface. The distal surface is covered with a backing layer. The wafer comprises a central portion and a peripheral portion, and it comprises at least a first and a detection zone, wherein the detection zone is configured to provide a tactile sensation on the distal surface of the wafer when exposed to moisture.

Ostomy appliance with a leakage indicator

The present invention relates to a kit comprising at least one base plate for adhesive attachment to the skin around at least one body opening. The kit further comprises at least one separate peripheral device for attachment to the base plate. The base plate comprises a backing layer, having a proximal side facing the user during use, where a skin friendly adhesive is disposed on said proximal side of the backing layer and wherein the base plate is an intact base plate thereby allowing a hole to be cut at a desired position before use. The separate peripheral device comprises a continuous adhesive ring for permanent adhesive attachment between the continuous adhesive ring of the peripheral device and the distal side of the backing layer of the base plate. This allows the user to provide a custom fit for irregular body openings.

An ostomy appliance comprising a front wall and a rear wall of flexible material forming a bag, said rear wall having an opening for receiving a stoma, and said rear wall also being provided with an adhesive wafer for securing the appliance to a user's skin, said wafer having a hole being aligned with the opening for receiving the stoma, wherein the opening has an edge being secured to the surface of the adhesive wafer facing away from the user in an attachment zone surrounding the hole of the wafer, wherein a first part of the edge of the opening of the gab is secured to the surface of the wafer in a corresponding first part of the attachment zone, and wherein a second, remaining part of the edge of the opening of the bag is prepared for adhesive sealing of the same to the remaining second part of the attachment zone renders it possible for a nurse to observe the stoma area during adaptation of such a sealing member when applying one-piece appliances.

An ostomy appliance body side member or an ostomy appliance comprising an adhesive wafer having a first adhesive surface for securing the appliance to the user's skin, said wafer having a second surface being covered with a carrier sheet which wafer has a hole for receiving a stoma wherein a part of the adhesive wafer surrounding the stoma shows balanced plastic and elastic properties allowing an adaptation of the size of the hole of the ostomy appliance to a stoma by enlarging the hole for accommodating the stoma by rolling up the inner rim thereof forming a torus and wherein a part of the second surface of the wafer surrounding the hole shows surface properties compatible with the first adhesive surface of the adhesive wafer locking the torus to the second surface in its rolled position by the contact between the second surface and the first adhesive surface enables a simple, safe and reliable customisation of the hole of a body side member without the use of tools and at the same time provides means for reducing the risk of causing injury to or constriction of the stoma.

Radially divided adhesive wafers are provided for applying to the skins of a human, and which increase the wear time for such adhesive wafers. The adhesive wafer includes a through-going hole for communication with a body opening and an adhesive proximal side for attachment of the wafer to the skin. The adhesive wafer has an inner annular adhesive layer, an outer annular adhesive layer encircling the inner annular adhesive layer, an attachment zone on the distal side of the wafer for attaching a collection bag, and a connecting element for mechanically connecting the first annular adhesive layer to the second annular adhesive layer. The connecting element includes first and second connection areas on the distal side of the respective first and second annular adhesive layers, at least one connection area being radially spaced from the radial edges of the respective annular adhesive layer.

An adhesive wafer for an ostomy faceplate or wound dressing comprising a backing layer, said backing layer having one surface facing the skin, said surface comprising a first and a second adhesive zone being separated from each others by a void volume, said void volume being defined by the backing layer, the first and the second adhesive zones and the skin surface and wherein the first and the second adhesive zones are capable of moving independently of each others with respect to the lateral plane of the backing layer.

Adhesive wafer

A fecal management device suitable for attachment directly to the perianal skin between the buttocks of the wearer. The device utilizes an optimised adhesive wafer in order to securely attach the device to the skin of the wearer so that the device is maintained in position for the entire period of wear, including circumstances or periods of wear during which the wearer is active, i.e. not bedridden. In addition the fecal management device of the present invention has the ability for easy application of the device.

Layered adhesive construct having a mouldable layer as skin contact surface

A layered adhesive construction including a layer of a moldable paste wrapped in one or more wrapping layers, and a first adhesive layer attached to the wrapping layer on one outer surface of the layer of wrapped moldable paste where the layered adhesive construction has a symmetrical shape around a central axis of symmetry lying in the plane of the layers of the adhesive construction. The adhesive construction has a hole going therethrough which is placed with its center on the axis of symmetry so that it divides the central axis of symmetry in two parts. An area around at least one of the two parts on the central axis of symmetry is without the moldable paste layer and has one or more backing layers and a layer of adhesive on the same side of the adhesive construction as the first adhesive layer.

Layered adhesive construction useful for attaching a collecting bag or collecting device to the perianal area

An ostomy appliance body side member or an ostomy appliance including an adhesive wafer having a first adhesive surface for securing the appliance to the user's skin, and a second surface provided with a hydrophobic adhesive. The part of the adhesive wafer surrounding the stoma shows balanced plastic and elastic properties allowing the hole of the ostomy appliance to be enlarged by rolling up the inner rim around the hole to form a torus. The torus is locked in the rolled up position by adhesion between the hydrophobic adhesive on the second surface and the first adhesive surface, the hydrophobic adhesive ensuring that the torus does not unroll even when the first adhesive surface is exposed to moisture, thereby reducing the risk of causing injury to or constriction of the stoma.

An ostomy appliance including a body side member having an adhesive wafer for securing the appliance to the user's skin, and a separate sealing member for sealing against the stoma, the separate sealing member being in the form of a disc having a centre hole for accommodating the stoma. The disc is made from a material that may be detached, rinsed and reapplied such that the disc has a service time at least as long as the body side member. The disc reduces the frequency of stressing the skin around the stoma due to exchange of the body side member by protecting the surface of the adhesive wafer from soiling by and attack from the aggressive visceral contents and facilitates the cleaning of the body side member.
