In an embodiment, a filtration system is included having a housing including a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet. The housing can define an internal volume. A first filter element can be removably disposed within the housing. A short-range wireless communication tag can be associated with the first filter element. A short-range wireless communication reader can be associated with the housing, the reader configured to wirelessly send data to and receive data from the tag when the reader and the tag are at a distance that is less than or equal to a maximum communication distance. Removal of the first filter element from the housing can cause the distance between the tag and the reader to exceed the maximum communication distance. Other embodiments are also included herein.

Filter systems, elements and methods with short-range wireless tracking features

Embodiments herein relate to systems for detecting air bubbles in fluids. In an embodiment, a fluid system aeration detector is included having an optical air bubble sensor. The optical air bubble sensor can include a light source, a light detector, and a sensor controller. The sensor controller can be in signal communication with the light detector and can be configured to detect air bubbles based on the signals received from the light detector. The sensor controller can further be configured to estimate an amount of aeration of a fluid based on the detected air bubbles. Other embodiments are also included herein.

Air bubble sensing systems and related signal processing

Embodiments herein relate to water in fuel sensing systems that can be mounted on-vehicle. In an embodiment, a water in fuel sensing system is included having a light source, a light detector, and a sensor controller, wherein the sensor controller is in signal communication with the light detector and the sensor controller is configured to evaluate signals received from the light detector, identify water droplets based on the signals received from the light detector, record information regarding the classified water droplets, and generate an estimate of an amount of water in a fuel. Embodiments herein relate to filter restriction indicator () for a filtration system. In an embodiment, a filter restriction indicator () can have an electronics control cartridge () including an internal spacer frame (), a first circuit board (), a second circuit board () disposed over the first circuit board (), and a pressure sensor () in electrical communication with the first circuit board (). A filter fluid tube () defines a filter fluid channel () in fluid communication with the pressure sensor (). The internal spacer frame () can secure the first circuit board () at a fixed distance from the second circuit board (). A lower housing () defines an ambient pressure port (). A cap () defines an interior volume () into which the electronics control cartridge fits (). The cap () can define a shielding panel () configured to fit over an exterior portion of the ambient pressure port () when the cap () is engaged with the lower housing (). Filter restriction indicator

Embodiments herein relate to multi-zone filtration monitoring systems and methods. In an embodiment, a filtration monitoring system is included having a plurality of filtration housings, a plurality of filter elements associated with the filter housings, a plurality of wireless communication tags associated with the filter elements, a plurality of zone antennas, and a wireless communication reader in wired communication with the plurality of zone antennas. The reader can be configured to wirelessly send data to and receive data from the wireless communication tags via the zone antennas. Other embodiments are also included herein.

Multi-zone filtration monitoring systems and methods

Aspects herein include filter elements and filtration systems. In an embodiment, a filter element for a filtration system is included. The filter element can include a filter body and a filter media disposed within the filter body. A wireless power receiver can be associated with the filter body. The wireless power receiver can include a receiving antenna, a control circuit in electrical communication with the wireless power receiver, and a feedback channel circuit in communication with the control circuit and configured to transmit through a channel separate from the receiving antenna. Filtration systems, filter elements and methods with wireless power transmission and separate signal output

A weight to facilitate weed resistant fishing is disclosed. Embodiments include a biconically-tapered weight shaped to define a relatively centrally located aperture, an off-center exit aperture, surrounded by a lip, wherein the weight has a channel where conventional fishing line may pass through the top of the weight, through the channel, and out an exit aperture. With tension on the line, a portion of the hook enters the lip and the hook is relatively shielded from accumulating weeds on decent through a weed mass. A variety of methods disclose manipulating a conventional fishing rod and line with the subject weight.
