Methods, apparatus, and processor-readable storage media for prioritizing patching of vulnerable components are provided herein. An example computer-implemented method includes obtaining information indicative of a first set of components embedded in a software package; determining risk levels for respective ones of the components in the first set based on a data flow representation of the software package; and assigning a priority for patching a software vulnerability in a given component of the first set based at least in part on the risk level of the given component.

Prioritizing patching of vulnerable components

Methods, apparatus, and processor-readable storage media for filtering security controls are provided herein. An example computer-implemented method includes obtaining information pertaining to a software project and a target market of the software project; and identifying, based on the obtained information, at least one security control to be implemented in the software project, from among a plurality of security controls, in order to satisfy at least a threshold level of security defined for the software project, wherein the threshold level of security is based at least in part on one or more security standards related to the target market.

Filtering security controls

Methods, apparatus, and processor-readable storage media for automated threat analysis of a system design are provided herein. An example method includes obtaining a design of a security architecture; analyzing the design to identify existing security controls in the architecture; in response to determining that the existing security controls fail to satisfy one or more mitigation criteria for mitigating at least one security threat: identifying one or more of at least one additional security control that mitigates the at least one security threat, and at least one change to at least one of the existing security controls that mitigates the at least one security threat; generating mitigation information indicative of one or more of the at least one additional security control and the changes; and revising the design based at least in part on the mitigation information.
