There is provided splice trays and splice assemblies that include one or more optical fiber routing guides for optical fiber slack storage. The optical fiber routing guides are associated with individual or select groupings of splice holders in order to eliminate slack storage generally around the perimeter of the splice tray. Therefore, the optical fibers of one or a select number of splices may be routed separately from other optical fibers to enable technicians to more easily manipulate the fibers. In addition, optical fiber routing guides are included with a splice assembly in order to eliminate slack storage generally around the splice tray. The optical fiber routing guides additionally may define bend radiuses of between about 0.1 inch and about 0.5 inch. Therefore, splice trays and splice assemblies comprising the optical fiber routing guides may provide more convenient access and/or define smaller sizes compared to previous splice trays and splice assemblies.

There is provided a fiber distribution hub with a panel assembly that includes one or more selectively removable parking devices. The parking devices are adapted to selectively receive one or more connectors of fiber optic cables within the fiber distribution hub. The panel assembly includes a parking area that defines a plurality of slots into which the parking devices are inserted. Once a parking device has been removed from the slot, a splitter module can be inserted into the slot previously occupied by the parking device. Therefore, the size of the housing of the fiber distribution hub can be reduced because the parking area can also be used for splitter mounting.

There are provided fiber optic local convergence points ('LCPs') adapted for use with multiple dwelling units ('MDUs') that facilitate relatively easy installation and/or optical connectivity to a relatively large number of subscribers. The LCP includes a housing comprising an access cover for separating the subscriber portion from the provider portions. A splitter module of the LCP may be joined to the interior side of the access cover or may be joined to the housing opposite the access cover. The LCP may also include a splice tray assembly and/or an input receptacle to facilitate convenient installation of the provider cable. The LCP further comprises a plurality of receptacles for selective optical connection of a plurality of subscriber drop fibers/cables.

There is provided a fiber optic housing assembly that includes a fiber optic interconnection portion and/or a splice portion. To provide the technician convenient access to the interconnection portion and/or the splice portion, the slidable shelf portion includes a pivotable portion that allows the interconnection portion and/or splice portion to be moved upwards or downwards, such as by pivoting about an axis. Therefore, the technician can preferably manipulate the fiber optic cables and/or connectors at an upper portion of the equipment rack without using a step ladder or similar device and at the lower portion of the equipment rack with greater comfort. The pivotable portion includes locks, latches, pins, and/or the like to prevent unintentional movement of the pivotable portion relative to the shelf portion and/or exterior portion of the housing assembly.
