A two-component adhesive composition for the chemical fixing technique comprises a radical-curable synthetic resin having a viscosity of from 100 to 10 000 mPa.s at 23.degree. C. and spatially separated therefrom--a curing agent of the synthetic resin. The synthetic resin contains as binder a di(meth)acrylate of an alkoxylated bisphenol. The adhesive composition is for use in fixing anchor bolts, screws and plugs in drilled holes.

Three-dimensional objects are produced by the polymerization of a photopolymerizable liquid medium with the aid of high-energy radiation by continuously introducing the liquid medium in lamina form from a casting means onto the surface of a carrier liquid which has a higher specific gravity than the photopolymerizable medium and is not miscible therewith. This lamina is polymerized by irradiation to form a laminar, two-dimensional polymer layer, then the surface of the carrier liquid is raised and another lamina of the photopolymerizable medium is introduced onto the surface and polymerized to form a further polymer layer which combines with the preceding one. These steps are repeated until the three-dimensional object is formed. The steps of forming the polymer lamina and raising the surface of the carrier liquid may be computer controlled.

Orifices, cavities or spaces which are formed when printing plates are mounted on a plate cylinder are closed and/or sealed by means of a pasty, photocurable sealing or closing compound consisting of one or more photopolymerizable, ethylenically unsaturated low molecular weight compounds (a), one or more polymeric binder (b) which are compatible with the said compounds of component (a), one or more photopolymerization initiators (c) and one or more finely divided oxidic fillers (d) which, when mixed with components (a) to (c), give mixtures which are transparent to long-wavelength UV light. After it has been applied, this sealing or closing compound is cured by exposure and can then be mechanically processed. The process is particularly suitable for closing and/or sealing orifices, cavities or spaces in gravure printing plates mounted on plate cylinders.

The invention relates to photopolymerizable, sheet-like molding materials containing a mixture of an unsaturated polyester, monomers, a thickener, pulverulent and/or fibrous additives and metal wire inserts. The molding materials can be shaped, for example by pressing or deep-drawing, to give dimensionally staple semi-finished products which are cured to give finished articles. The latter can be employed as automotive components or domestic appliance components.

The invention relates to a process for the manufacture of hollow articles, in which a photocurable resin is introduced into a mold which transmits light, the mold is irradiated until the resin has polymerized to the desired depth, the remaining resin is allowed to run out and the partially polymerized layer is then fully cured. The hollow articles may be used in particular as expendable cores in the manufacture of plastics containers by the winding process.

Photocurable molding, impregnating and coating compositions based on unsaturated polyester resins containing UV sensitizers, wherein the sensitizers are acylphosphine oxide compounds of the general formula ##STR1## A preferred sensitizer is 2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyldiphenylphosphine oxide which is employed with or without conventional UV sensitizers, preferably benzil-dimethylketal.
