An electrical device is disclosed for use in a wall box having a series of buttons that can either be rocker buttons or push buttons; these buttons can be supported by springboards formed integral with a support board; the springboards are for biasing the series of buttons; much of the device is housed within a housing formed at a first end by a body and a second end by a strap coupled to the housing; the strap extends beyond the body, wherein this strap can be used to dissipate heat from the device; inside of the housing can be at least one circuit board which has switches, which can be used to receive instructions from a plurality of buttons.

Electrical control device

An electrical receptacle is disclosed. The electrical receptacle includes a housing and at least one socket at least partially disposed within the housing and having at least a pair of entry ports. The at least one socket is controllable by a radio frequency signal. The electrical receptacle also includes an antenna at least partially disposed within the housing configured to at least receive the radio frequency signal used to control the at least one socket. The electrical receptacle further includes at least one tamper resistant device at least partially disposed within the housing. The at least one tamper resistant device is configured to block the entry ports unless a mating electrical plug is inserted into the at least one socket.

Receptacle with antenna

An occupancy sensor having a replaceable cover with a convenient adjustment and installation scheme is disclosed herein. More particularly, a single or multi-technology occupancy sensor, assembled inside a semi-spherical shaped enclosure includes a replaceable cover with a convenient adjustment and installation scheme. This sensor design enables the sensor to be rotated after installation to obtain a desired coverage patterns. Specifically, the housing for the occupancy sensor includes a front cover having a lens assembly, a base assembly, a harmonic wheel, and a back cover. The front cover couples to the base assembly such that tool-less, manual access is available through the manually removable cover assembly to adjust several features of the sensor. The harmonic wheel enables the front cover, which includes the lens to swivel from zero to 359 degrees relative to the back cover anytime after installation.

Adjustable low voltage occupancy sensor

A remote control electrical device which can communicate with a remote control device. The electrical control device is adapted to fit into a housing which fits into a wall mounting. The remote control electrical device can comprise a control circuit disposed in the housing, a transmitter disposed in the housing, a receiver disposed in the housing wherein said transmitter and said receiver are in communication with the control circuit. There is also a support plate having an inside face facing into the housing and an outside face facing away from the housing body. The support plate is coupled to the housing, wherein there is also an antenna disposed on the outside face of the support plate. This antenna does not receive any power-line AC frequencies or DC, instead it is capacitively coupled to the rest of the electrical components and disposed on the outside face of the support plate.

RF antenna integrated into a control device installed into a wall switch box

An electrical device is disclosed for use in a wall box having a series of buttons that can either be rocker buttons or push buttons. These buttons can be supported by springboards formed integral with a support board. The springboards are for biasing the series of buttons. Much of the device is housed within a housing formed at a first end by a body and a second end by a strap coupled to the housing. The strap extends beyond the body, wherein this strap can be used to dissipate heat from the device. Inside of the housing can be at least one circuit board which has switches, which can be used to receive instructions from a plurality of buttons. In one embodiment, a plurality of light pipes are adapted so that they are housed at least partially inside of these buttons. At least one portion of the light pipe can be formed as a shaft and adapted to extend out from this housing and down to a light emitter disposed on the circuit board. In at least one embodiment, this light pipe can also include at least one actuator which is used to contact an associated springboard when a button is acted on. This movement causes the springboard to contact an actuator on a TAC switch which then results in an associated set of instructions being sent to the circuit board.

A printed circuit board (PCB) holder having a pair of spaced apart frames with captivating mechanisms for supporting one or more PCBs independent of the number and geometry of the PCBs. Each frame is defined by a ridge member surrounding the periphery of the frame and the ridge member has at least one captivating mechanism to engage a portion of at least one PCB. One frame holds one end of a PCB and the other frame holds the opposite end of the PCB.

A mounting strap device can be configured to mount a number of different types of wallplates of decreasing length. A central body portion has removable tabs which engage a wallplate of a first length and a first type. The removable tabs can be removed to expose pairs of removable members at the strap device ends which contain flexible latch pawls to mount a second, shorter type wallplate. The removable members can be removed to allow the mounting strap device to be fixed to a shorter length, third type wallplate by means of threaded fasteners.

To separate the chamber of a standard device box into two compartments, one for high voltage power conductors and the other for low power signal conductors a deflectable isolation barrier is employed. In a first form the barrier, its supporting means and attaching means are formed as an integral unit and fastened to the inside surface of a wall plate. The barrier takes a position in the box based upon the depth of the box. In a second form the deflectable isolation barrier is formed as an extension of the side wall of a box insert to be placed in the device box.

A snap-in assembly of a wallplate to a heat sink is achieved by placing notches in the ends of the heat-dissipating fins of the heat sink which receive in locking engagement the free ends of tabs placed along the inside of the peripheral wall, at the top and bottom ends, of the rear surface of the wallplate. The wallplate can be removed from the heat sink and reinstalled as desired.
