A system in accordance with present embodiments includes an amusement park system having one or more hardware components and a controller. The controller includes a memory device having a game layer and a software layer stored thereon. The game layer includes game logic, and the software layer includes a game API communicatively coupled to the game layer, a wrapper API communicatively coupled to the game API, and multiple wrappers communicatively coupled to the wrapper API. The controller further includes a processor configured to execute instructions to cause the processor to receive a signal indicative of a change in the hardware components, and, based on the signal indicative of the change in the hardware components, communicate with the hardware components via a wrapper to receive an input from the hardware components, or drive operation of the hardware components.

Modular amusement park systems and methods

An amusement park system includes a modular attraction system having a ride vehicle having seats to accommodate passengers, an on-board system integrated with the ride vehicle and having on-board game systems connected via a network. Each on-board game system is configured to provide an augmented reality (AR) experience, or a virtual reality (VR) experience, or both, via a respective visual experience generator device. The AR experience, or the VR experience, or both, is provided within a game shared between the on-board game systems. The on-board game systems are integrated into the ride vehicle, and are connected via the network to one another in a manner that allows for ready removal of all or a portion of one of the on-board game systems without affecting operation of the remaining on-board game systems.

A video stream management system includes a video controller that live renders video. Moreover, the video stream management system also includes a display that is communicatively coupled to the video controller and displays a primary video feed that includes the live rendered video. The video controller, the display, or a combination thereof, embeds a pixel pattern in the primary video feed. Additionally, the video feed management system monitors one or more displayed images on the display to identify an error in the primary video feed.

An augmented reality (AR) and 3-dimensional (3-D) viewing system for providing an AR and 3-D experience to a user includes a wearable visualization device having a viewing assembly through which the user is capable of viewing a real-world environment. The viewing assembly includes a first display configured to display one or more AR features and a 3-D viewing component that enables the user to perceive one or more coded 2-dimensional (2-D) images as one or more deciphered 3-D features. The AR and 3-D viewing system also includes a fixed 3-D display system having a second display configured to display the one or more coded 2-D images. The fixed 3-D display system is disposed within the real-world environment.

Present embodiments are directed toward a dynamic control system for an amusement park ride. The system includes a game server that generates game data describing movement of a virtual vehicle through a virtual environment; a programmable logic controller (PLC) configured to conditionally execute instructions of a dynamic ride profile relative to one or more stored limits to operate physical actions of the ride vehicle; and a dynamic ride profile server communicatively coupled to the game server and the PLC. The dynamic ride profile server is configured to: receive input data, sensor data, and the game data; provide the received data as inputs to one or more physical models to generate a portion of a dynamic ride profile based on the movement of the virtual vehicle through the virtual environment; and provide the portion of the dynamic ride profile to the PLC for conditional execution.
