A process for the preparation of emulsion aggregation toner particles with high pigment loading having a reduced number of wax protrusions on the surface of the toner particles and fewer coarse toner particles. The process includes the introduction of a wax having a molecular weight between about 500 and 2,500, or a blend of waxes having different a molecular weight between 500 and 2,500.

A process for the preparation of toner by, for example, mixing a colorant, a latex, a wax and a dual coagulant mixture comprising water solubilized silica with an alumina coating referred to as aluminized silica and a polyaluminum chloride to provide, for example, a toner composition of different gloss levels when fused.

Toner coagulant processes

A method for treating a substrate is disclosed in which a propellant stream is passed through a channel and directed toward a substrate. Substrate pre-marking or post-marking treatment material is controllably introduced into the propellant stream and imparted with sufficient kinetic energy thereby to be made incident upon a substrate. A multiplicity of channels for directing the propellant and treatment material allow for high throughput, high resolution in-situ treatment. Marking materials and treatment materials may be introduced into the channel and mixed therein prior to being made incident on the substrate, or mixed or superimposed on the substrate without registration. One example is a single-pass, full-color printer.

Method of treating a substrate employing a ballistic aerosol marking apparatus

Disclosed is a process for depositing marking material onto a substrate which includes (a) providing a propellant to a head structure, said head structure having at least one channel therein, said channel having an exit orifice with a width no larger than about 250 microns through which the propellant can flow, said propellant flowing through the channel to form thereby a propellant stream having kinetic energy, said channel directing the propellant stream toward the substrate, and (b) controllably introducing a particulate marking material into the propellant stream in the channel, wherein the kinetic energy of the propellant particle stream causes the particulate marking material to impact the substrate, and wherein the particulate marking material comprises toner particles which comprise a polyester resin, an optional colorant, and poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene), said toner particles having an average particle diameter of no more than about 10 microns and a particle size distribution of GSD equal to no more than about 1.25, wherein said toner particles are prepared by an emulsion aggregation process, said toner particles having an average bulk conductivity of at least about 10 Siemens per centimeter.

An ink composition containing (1) a complex mixture of a urea compound and an alkylene oxide containing oxyalkylene compound wherein the conductive mixture optionally possesses a melting point of from about 60 to about 120&deg; C.; (2) a polymeric binder with an optional melting point of from about 60 to about 115&deg; C.; (3) a lightfastness component; (4) a lightfast antioxidant, and (5) a colorant.

C.; (3) an alcohol compound; (4) a lightfastness component; (5) a lightfastness antioxidant; and (6) a colorant.

An ink composition comprised of (1) a mixture comprised of a salt and an oxyalkylene compound wherein the conductive mixture possesses a melting point of from about 60.degree. C. to about 120.degree. C.; (2) an ink vehicle compound with a melting point of from about 80.degree. C. to about 100.degree. C.; (3) a viscosity modifying amide compound; (4) a lightfastness component; (5) a lightfastness antioxidant; and (6) a colorant.

An ink composition comprised of a vehicle and a colorant, and wherein the vehicle is comprised of a mixture of an alkane.
