A dry powder inhaler for providing pharmaceutically active particles includes a mouthpiece portion removably coupled to a distal end portion. The mouthpiece portion extends between the mouthpiece end and a first mating end. The distal end portion extends between a second mating end and the distal end. A capsule cavity is defined within the first mating end. An airflow element is disposed within the distal end portion and extends a longitudinal length to the capsule cavity. The airflow element includes an airflow channel extending the longitudinal length of the airflow channel and non-parallel with the longitudinal axis, the airflow channel directs inlet air into the capsule cavity, and a resealable membrane configured to reseal when a piercing element is withdrawn from the resealable membrane.

The method for manufacturing inductively heatable tobacco rods comprises the steps of providing a continuous profile of a susceptor, guiding an aerosol-forming tobacco substrate along a tobacco substrate converging device, positioning the continuous profile of susceptor in the aerosol-forming tobacco substrate and converging the aerosol-forming tobacco substrate to a final rod shape. Therein, the step of positioning the continuous profile of susceptor in the aerosol-forming tobacco substrate is performed before performing the step of converging the aerosol-forming tobacco substrate to its final rod shape.

The apparatus further comprises a susceptor supply () configured for supplying the susceptor profile to the rod-forming device such as to enter and pass the rod-forming device along the center axis of the rod-forming device. The apparatus also comprises a substrate supply () configured for supplying the substrate web to the rod-forming device such as to enter the rod-forming device laterally to the susceptor profile.

An aerosol-generating article is provided, including a plurality of elements assembled in the form of a rod, the elements including an aerosol-forming substrate and an aerosol-cooling element located downstream from the aerosol-forming substrate. The aerosol-cooling element includes a plurality of longitudinally extending channels and has a porosity of between 50% and 90% in the longitudinal direction. The aerosol-cooling element may have a total surface area of between about 300 mmper mm length and about 1000 mmper mm length. An aerosol passing through the aerosol-cooling element is cooled, and in some embodiments, water is condensed within the aerosol-cooling element.

The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing inductively heatable aerosol-forming rods (). The method comprises supplying a first substrate web () and a second substrate web () separately to a continuous multiple-stage rod-forming process which comprises at least a first and a subsequent second stage. The first stage is configured for separately pre-gathering a first and a second substrate web () respectively as each of them passes through the first stage. The second stage is configured for jointly gathering the pre-gathered substrate webs into a rod shape around a susceptor profile () as the susceptor profile and the pre-gathered substrate webs pass through the second stage.

A method of manufacturing a variable crimped web material is provided, including feeding a substantially continuous web material; crimping a first region of the material at a first crimp value; and crimping a second region of the material, adjacent the first region, at a second crimp value, the crimping using a set of two rollers, each being corrugated across at least a portion of its width and corrugated around its circumference, and being configured so the corrugations across the width interleave with each other to crimp the material, so the troughs of the corrugations around the circumference crimp the material at the first crimp value, and so the peaks of the corrugations around the circumference crimp the material at the second crimp value.
