Device to support and swing the hearth in an electric furnace, whether it be the type operating on direct or alternate current, the furnace being able to be of the channel type, EBT with the hearth lowered or not, OBT or other type, the hearth (11) cooperating at the upper part with a cooled side wall (12) having a closure system (14) which can be temporally associated, the hearth (11) being supported by a platform (18), the device comprising a plurality of lifting cylinders (19, 119) associated at the lower part with the platform (18) and at least a translation and/or oscillation actuator (20, 120; 32) associated at the side of the platform (18), the lifting (19, 119) and translation (20, 120; 32) cylinders being able to be driven independently and in a correlated manner so as to obtain on the hearth (11) desired movements of lifting, translation, swinging, oscillation or a combination of such movements.

Device to support and swing the hearth in an electric furnace

The device includes at least a mould (11) with a replaceable crystallizer (12), a downstream mould portion, a containing, guiding and cooling roller conveyor (14) and an extraction and straightening assembly (15). The extraction and straightening assembly (15) includes drawing rolls (16) with a flat portion (18) and with a longitudinally arranged circumferential outline portion (17) for round products, the lateral reciprocal position of the drawing rolls (16) in relation to the longitudinal axis of the mould (11) being able to be varied from a first position for the casting of round products (13a) to a second position for the casting of products with flat sides (13b).

Device for the continuous casting of products having a round

A secondary circuit having a variable impedance for electric arc furnaces of a type working with alternating current, which is associated with a transformer (11) is disclosed. A secondary circuit comprises at least one rigid connection (12) connected to the outputs (16) of the transformer (11), flexible cables (13) connected through rigid connection elements (29, 129) at first end to the rigid connection (12) and at the other end to specific electrodes (15). At least one branch of the secondary circuit (10) corresponds to a specific phase including at least one of the respective rigid components (12, 17, 29, 129) having at least two parts reciprocally positionable in an adjustable manner according to the required value of overall reactance of the specific branch of the secondary circuit (10) comprising that rigid component (12, 17, 29, 129).
