The invention concerns an additive for motive fuel additive, in particular with low sulphur content not more than 500 ppm, consisting for the most part of a combination comprising 5 to 95 wt. % of a glycerol monoester R &mdash;C(O)&mdash;O&mdash;CH &mdash;CHO&mdash;CH OH or R &mdash;C(O)&mdash;O&mdash;CH(CH OH) , R being an alkyl chain containing 8 to 60 carbon atoms, or a monocyclic or polycyclic group comprising 8 to 60 carbon atoms, and from 5 to 95 wt % of a compound of formula R &mdash;C(O)&mdash;X, R being an alkyl chain containing 8 to 24 carbon atoms, or a monocyclic or polycyclic group comprising 8 to 60 carbon atoms, and X being selected among (i) the groups OR R being a hydrocarbon radical comprising 1 to 8 carbon atoms, optionally substituted by one or several esters; and (ii) the groups derived from primary or secondary amines and alkanolamines with aliphatic hydrocarbon chain, comprising 1 to 18 carbon atoms.

Detergent and anti-corrosive additive for fuels and fuel composition

Compounds with general formula ##STR1## where R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group containing 1 to 40 carbon atoms. R.sup.2 represents a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group containing 1 to 12 carbon atoms, A, B, and C, which may be identical or different, each represent a divalent hydrocarbon group containing 2 to 6 carbon atoms, n is a whole number from 5 to 50, m and p are each zero or a whole number from 1 to 25, and the sum n+m+p is a whole number from 5 to 50. These compounds are used in multifunctional additive compositions for fuels used in internal combustion engines, in particular spark ignition engines, in admixture with at least one compound selected from the group formed by detergent-dispersant compounds, and at least one compound selected from the group formed by mineral or synthetic lubricating oils and polyglycols which are soluble in said fuels.

Gasoline additives containing alkoxylated imidazo-oxazoles

Disclosed is a composition resulting, in a first stage, from the reaction of at least one alkenyl or polyalkenylsuccinic acid or anhydride on at least one 1-(2-hydroxyethyl)-imidazoline substituted in the 2-position by a linear or branched alkyl or alkenyl radical, with 1 to 25 atoms of carbon in an imidazoline to succinic derivative molar ratio of 0.1:1 to 0.9:1 with the removal of at least 0.15 mole of water per mole of imidazoline, and then, in a second stage, from the reaction of the product obtained in the first stage on at least one polyamine in an amount representing at least 0.1 mole per mole of the succinic derivative utilized in the first stage. Also disclosed are methods for the utilization of these compositions as multifunction additives in engine fuels having as a base hydrocarbons or a mixture of hydrocarbons and at least one oxygen compound selected from the group constituted by alcohols and ethers.

The present invention concerns a process for preparing a basic additive for lubricating oils having an antiwear and detergent effect, the additive thus obtained and a lubricating composition containing the additive. The process consists of contacting an amino-acid in solution or in dispersion in the oil with a detergent, an alkaline-earth metal derivative, carbon dioxide in diluent oil, a hydrocarbon-based solvent, and a polar solvent in the presence of a nitrogen-based basic derivative.

Formulations of additives for engine fuels comprising at least one constituent (A) and one constituent (B) resulting from the reaction of at least one alkenyl or polyalkenyl-succinic derivative with at least one polyamine to form constituent (A) and with at least one 1-(2-hydroethyl) imidazoline substituted in the 2-position by a linear or branched alkyl or alkenyl radical with 1 to 25 atoms of carbon to form constituent (B). The preferred formulations also contain a constituent (C) consisting of at least one polyglycol soluble in said fuel, with an average molecular mass ranging from 480 to 2,100. The (A)/(B) and (A)+(B)/(C) molar ratios preferably are respectively 0.2/1 to 5/1 and 0.05/1 and 20/1.

A method of preparation of polymer-asphalt (bitumen) compositions which comprises mixing, with agitation, at a temperature of 130.degree. to 230.degree. C., 80 to 98% by weight of an asphalt having a penetration between 30 to 220, and 2 to 20% by weight of a polyblock copolymer of a styrene-carboxylated conjugated diene having a mean molecular weight of 30,000 to 300,000, and maintaining this mixture for at least 2 hours at this temperature, then adding 0.1 to 3% of elemental sulfur, based on the asphalt, while maintaining the same conditions of agitation and temperature for at least 20 minutes, the carboxylated conjugated diene sequence being selected from the group consisting of carboxylated polybutadiene and carboxylated polyisoprene.
