An apparatus for producing packages of infusion products, such as a bag filled with a dosed quantity of a product, a tag and a length of thread attached at opposite ends to the bag and to the tag respectively, includes a closing station of the filled bag, a feeding group of the closed bag and of the tag, a sewing station for sewing each length of thread to the tags and to the bags, and an inlet station to a winding group for winding the stitched length of the thread around the bag.

Apparatus for producing packages of infusion products

An apparatus for producing packages of infusion products, such as a bag filled with a dosed quantity of a product, a tag and a length of thread attached at opposite ends to the bag and to the tag respectively, includes a forming group of the filled bag, a feeding group of the formed bag and of the tag, a cutting and feeding group of the length of thread, and a sewing head of the length of thread to the bag and to the tag.

Products () are fed in an ordered succession by a unit () comprising a conveyor unit () equipped with pockets (), an outfeed conveyor () on which products () advance in succession at a given pitch (p), also a transfer unit () operating between the conveyor unit () and the outfeed conveyor (). The conveyor unit () presents a first belt () and a second belt () placed one beside the other and equipped with independent motors (M, M), whilst the pockets () are arranged in first and second groups, each comprising a given number (n) of pockets ordered at constant pitch (p) and associated respectively with the first belt () and the second belt (), so that the groups are alternated one with another along a predetermined path (P). The transfer unit () includes an elevating platform () by which products () are ejected from the pockets () and transferred at regular intervals to the outfeed conveyor (), and the motors of the first and second belts () are interlocked to a control unit () such as will ensure that the passage of each pocket is timed to coincide with an ejection stroke of the elevating platform ().

Products feeding unit

In a machine for making rigid hinge-lid packets, the lid of each packet is folded by a device () equipped with a plurality of pockets () occupied by respective single packets (P), each presenting a set of end folds () that will be bent inwards to form the lid (), also, a belt conveyor () by which the pockets () are directed along a predetermined folding path () between an infeed point () and an outfeed point (), a pulley () centred on a vertical axis (X) of rotation, and a folder unit () mounted to the rotating pulley (), interacting with a top part () of each pocket () in such a manner as to engage and bend the end folds () of the packet (P). The folding path () coincides with a branch of the belt conveyor () looped around the pulley ().

A device for transferring cigarette portions from an output bed of a dual-rod manufacturing machine to an input roller of a filter assembly machine; the device having a transfer unit rotating about an axis inclined with respect to the bed, and which picks up the cigarette portions from the bed and feeds them respectively into first and second seats of a drum conveyor; the first and second seats being arranged respectively along a circular first path and a circular second path coaxial with a common axis; and drums being provided to transfer the second cigarette portions from the second path to a path defined by the input roller of the filter assembly machine and common to the first and second cigarette portions.
