A vehicular autonomous driving system includes a fault prediction unit, including a processor and memory, configured to predict a potential future fault condition by: monitoring performance data associated with the plurality of autonomous driving components; comparing the performance data associated with the plurality of autonomous driving components to a plurality of performance thresholds; and determining the potential future fault condition for one of the plurality of autonomous driving components, when the performance data associated with the one of the plurality of autonomous driving components compare unfavorably to corresponding one of the plurality of performance thresholds.

Autonomous driving system component fault prediction

A parallel processing system includes at least three parallel processors, state monitoring circuitry, and state reload circuitry. The state monitoring circuitry couples to the at least three parallel processors and is configured to monitor runtime states of the at least three parallel processors and identify a first processor of the at least three parallel processors having at least one runtime state error. The state reload circuitry couples to the at least three parallel processors and is configured to select a second processor of the at least three parallel processors for state reload, access a runtime state of the second processor, and load the runtime state of the second processor into the first processor. Monitoring and reload may be performed only on sub-systems of the at least three parallel processors. During reload, clocks and supply voltages of the processors may be altered. The state reload may relate to sub-systems.

Parallel processing system runtime state reload

An autonomous driving controller includes a plurality of parallel processors operating on common input data received from the plurality of autonomous driving sensors. Each of the plurality of parallel processors includes communication circuitry, a general processor, a security processor subsystem (SCS), and a safety subsystem (SMS). The communication circuitry supports communications between the plurality of parallel processors, including inter-processor communications between the general processors of the plurality of parallel processors, communications between the SCSs of the plurality of parallel processors using SCS cryptography, and communications between the SMSs of the plurality of parallel processors using SMS cryptography, the SMS cryptography differing from the SCS cryptography. The SCS and/or the SMS may each include dedicated hardware and/or memory to support the communications.

Autonomous driving controller encrypted communications

A System-on-a-Chip includes a plurality of processing systems and channel circuitry servicing the plurality of processing systems. The channel circuitry includes a clock sprinkler circuit, a clock source, first direction data path circuitry and second direction data path circuitry. A clock sprinkler is a clock signal that propagates in a first direction only, from a source to all destinations. The first direction data path circuitry includes a plurality of first direction data flip flops and first direction combinational logic that service data flow in the first direction. The second direction data path circuitry includes a plurality of second direction data flip flops and second direction combinational logic that service data flow in the second direction. Clock/data skew in a second direction is greater than clock/data skew in a first direction, the first direction data flip flops are located based upon the clock/data skew in the first direction and the second direction data flip flops are located based upon the clock/data skew in the second direction.

Clock sprinklers for a system on a chip

In one form, a flip-flop comprises a master latch, a slave latch, and a multiplexer. The master latch has an input for receiving a data input signal, and an output, and operates in transparent and latching modes during respective first and second phases of a clock signal. The slave latch has an input coupled to the output of the master latch, and an output, and operates in the transparent and latching modes during the second and first phases of the clock signal, respectively. The multiplexer has a first input coupled to the output of the slave latch, a second input coupled to the output of the master latch, and an output for providing a data output signal, and provides the first input to the output during the first phase of the clock signal, and the second input to the output during the second phase of the clock signal.

Flip-flop circuit with latch bypass

In one form, a scan flip-flop includes a clock gating cell and a dedicated clock flip-flop. The clock gating cell provides an input clock input signal as a scan clock signal when a scan shift enable signal is active, and provides the input clock signal as a data clock signal when the scan shift enable signal is inactive. The dedicated clock flip-flop stores a data input signal and provides the data input signal, so stored, as a data output signal in response to transitions of the data clock signal, and stores a scan data input signal and provides the scan data input signal, so stored, as the data output signal in response to transitions of the scan clock signal. The clock gating cell may further provide the input clock signal as the data clock signal when both a scan shift enable signal is inactive and a data enable signal is active.

Scan flip-flop circuit with dedicated clocks

Leakage current is reduced in a plurality of gates coupled between source storage elements and destination storage elements by waking the plurality of gates to allow current flow in response to assertion of any source clock enable signals that enable clocking of the source storage elements. The gates are slept to reduce leakage current in the plurality of gates, in response to assertion of a destination clock enable signal and all of the one or more source clock enable signals being deasserted, the destination clock enable signal enabling clocking of the destination storage elements.

Pipeline power gating

A first and second plurality of gates are coupled respectively between first and second source storage elements and first and second destination storage elements. The first and second plurality of gates are slept to reduce leakage current in the plurality of gates under certain conditions by turning off respective one or more transistors between the first and second plurality of gates and power supplies. A third plurality of gates are maintained in a reduced leakage current state (sleep state) or regular state (wake state) based on conditions associated with the source and destination elements for the first and second plurality of gates.

Pipeline power gating for gates with multiple destinations

A semiconductor device includes a primary voltage rail, a secondary voltage rail, a plurality of transistors coupled between the primary and secondary voltage rails, and control logic operable to enable a first subset of the plurality of transistors to couple the primary voltage rail to the secondary voltage rail. During a steady state condition, the first subset comprises less than all of the plurality of transistors.

Variable-width power gating module

A method, electronic device, and system are provided in which data is stored in a gateable retention storage element. Also provided is a computer readable storage device encoded with data for adapting a manufacturing facility to create an apparatus which includes a silicon chip. The method includes storing a data value in a storage element, wherein the storage element is at least one of a flip-flop, a latch or a register. The method also includes placing the storage element in a low power state comprising removing one or more existing connections between the actual ground node and at least one other component in the storage element. The method also includes maintaining the data value in the storage element subsequent to placing the storage element into the low power state. The electronic device includes a storage component for storing a data value. The electronic device also includes a pair of cross-coupled inverter components communicatively coupled to the storage component, the pair of cross-coupled inverter components being adapted to maintain the data value stored by the storage component subsequent to placing the storage component into a low power state and being adapted to maintain a connection with an actual ground node subsequent to placing the storage component into the low power state. The system includes an array of storage elements adapted to store data.

Power gateable retention storage element

A compound logic flip-flop. The flip-flop includes a plurality of input stages, wherein each of the input stages is coupled to receive at least one input signal and a clock signal. Each of the plurality of input (i.e. 'master') stages is configured to perform a corresponding input logic function during a first phase of a clock cycle and to store a result of the corresponding input logic function. The flip-flop further includes an output (i.e. 'slave') stage coupled to receive the clock signal and the results of the input logic functions from each of the plurality of input stages. The output stage is configured, during a second phase of the clock cycle, to logically combine the results of the input logic functions by performing an output logic function and provide an output signal based on a result of the output logic function.
