The present disclosure discloses ways of navigating content. For example, techniques herein can include defining a logical flow of multiple content regions in a display page, initiating display of a first content region of the multiple content regions, the first content region of the display page displayed on a display screen according to a first zoom level, and in response to receiving navigation input in the display page to view a next content region following the first content region in the logical flow, identifying a second content region that follows the first content region in the logical flow. Additionally, embodiments herein can include analyzing parameters of the second content region to determine a second zoom level for viewing the second content region and initiating display of the second content region according to the second zoom level, the second zoom level being different than the first zoom level.

Paginated viewport navigation over a fixed document layout

A layout manager can generate a layout for displaying a plurality of content units in a display area using a layout strategy, with the layout strategy specifying a layout design rule. The generated layout can indicate a position in the display area for the plurality of content units. In some embodiments, the design rule(s) may in effect 'codify' traditional graphic design principles. When the layout is generated, the content units can be placed into a display area of a page and then the layout can be checked against at least one design rule and the layout adjusted as needed to meet the design rule. The system can comprise a user interface module that renders the content units in the display area using the generated layout. In some embodiments, content units are placed into a layout on a one-by-one basis according to priority, available display space, and one or more design rules.

Methods and systems for page layout using a virtual art director

Methods and apparatus provide for a Region Scroller. The Region Scroller renders a view of at least a portion of a set of headers, where each header is associated with a respective, expandable-collapsible (E-C) display region The Region Scroller identifies a newly-selected header based on an extent of directional input and modifies the view to include concurrent presentation of (i) the newly-selected header and (ii) an E-C display region in an expanded state, where the E-C display region is associated with the newly-selected header.

An authoring tool assigns a first depth value to a first image layer and a second depth value to a second image layer. The first depth value is a first simulated distance from a user. The second depth value is a second simulated distance from the user. The authoring tool composes an image based on the first image layer and the second image layer such that the image is displayed within a page in a scrollable area on a viewing device. The first depth value is utilized to generate a first offset value from a first static position of the first image layer and the second depth value is utilized to generate a second offset value from a second static position of the second image layer based upon a scroll position of the page with respect to a target location in the scrollable area to create a parallax effect.

Automatically transformed graphical user interface techniques and implementations are described, including displaying a graphical user interface in a first position, the graphical user interface having a composition having an interface element, detecting an input to change the composition, and transforming the graphical user interface in response to the input comprising adjusting at least one edge of the graphical user interface and orienting the graphical user interface to a second position relative to a point in a display.
