The present disclosure provides an ethylene-based polymer. The ethylene-based polymer is formed from reacting, under polymerization conditions, ethylene monomer and bisallyl maleate ('BAIIM'). The present ethylene-based polymer with ethylene monomer and bisallyl maleate branching agent is interchangeably referred to as “BAIIM-PE.”

The present invention is directed to polyethylene-based compositions suitable for packaging applications, films, and articles. The polyethylene-based composition according to embodiments disclosed herein includes a polyethylene composition having a first polyethylene fraction and a second polyethylene fraction as well as a calcium salt of 1,2-cyclohexanedicarbodylic acid. The polyethylene-based composition can deliver a balance of properties, including barrier properties, for packaging applications.

A composition is provided which comprises a propylene ethylene random copolymer having a melt flow rate (MFR) (as determined according to ASTM D1238, 230&#xb0; C., 2.16 Kg) of less than 1 g/10 min, a xylene solubles content of less than 7% by weight, an ethylene content of from 3 to 5 percent by weight of the copolymer, and a value equal to or greater than 92 for the product of the Koenig B value times the % mm triads measured on the xylene insoluble fraction of the random copolymer obtained by the wet method. The present disclosure is directed to random propylene/&#x3b1;-olefin compositions, articles, and processes for producing the same. The present compositions contain a random copolymer of propylene and &#x3b1;-olefin. Polymerization with an improved catalyst composition increases the molecular weight distribution of the copolymer and increases the randomness of comonomer distribution to yield random propylene/&#x3b1;-olefin copolymers with improved stiffness and/or improved optical properties.
