A seamless lighting arrangement for a vehicle panel. The vehicle panel has an inside surface and an outside surface. The vehicle panel has a light aperture extending from the inside surface of the vehicle panel to the outside surface of the vehicle panel. Connected to the inside surface of the vehicle panel is a bracket. The seamless lighting arrangement further includes a lens with a bracket connection portion that connects to the bracket and a transmission portion positioned within the light aperture of the vehicle panel. The lens further includes a light unit fixedly connected to the lens. The light unit has a projector port for emitting light from a light source. The light transmission portion of the lens has a light input surface region formed on an inside surface of the lens and a light output surface region formed on an outside surface of the lens.

Integrated in-surface lens assembly

A molded panel that encompasses all forward surfaces of a vehicle. The molded panel extends from the forward edge from a driver side front wheel opening, laterally across the front of the vehicle and terminating at a forward edge of a passenger side wheel opening. The molded panel extends in the vertical direction (i.e., perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle) from a forward lower edge of a front valance up to a leading edge of one of a hood, a flunk, and a windshield of the vehicle. The molded panel further includes connection flanges formed on a back side surface for connection to a vehicle frame that does not have a front end module and front frame bulk head.

A roof panel module for a vehicle that includes a frame of the roof panel module connectable to a vehicle. The frame includes an opening that extends between an inside surface and outside surface of the frame. The frame further includes an inner piece having a plurality of inner flanges and an outside piece having a plurality of outside flanges which allows bonding of one of the plurality of inner flanges to one of the plurality of outer flanges. The roof panel module further includes a window extending across the opening on the outside surface of the frame that provides a viewing surface through a roof panel module of a vehicle. Connected to the frame is a light emission unit positioned within the opening of the frame. The light emission unit selectively emits light away from the inside surface of the frame and selectively emits light away from the outside surface of the frame.

An active aerodynamic application torque link system including a four bar linkage having a fixed link, driven link, follower link and coupler. The fixed link has a follower link aperture and a driven link aperture. The follower link has a first end rotatably connected to the follower link aperture of the fixed link and a second end of the follower link is connected to the coupler. The driven link is rotatably connected at a first end to the coupler and coupled at a second end to a torque transfer tube that has a cross sectional shape of a four sided polygon with four radial facets. The four sided torque transfer tube is rotatably connected to the driven link aperture of the fixed link. The four bar linkage is used in a number of different applications by connecting the coupler with different components.

This allows for the creation of different sized AGS for different vehicle platforms, while assembling the AGS from a stock of components that is common to each AGS. The invention is also directed to a method of forming a base integrated end cap with moveable vane retainers and a link arm using a two shot molding process.

A mobile-device retaining assembly includes a housing for mounting within an opening in an internal surface of a vehicle, a bed associated with the housing and configured to receive the mobile-device and to support the mobile device in an orientation that is generally aligned with the internal surface, and a first armature engaged with the bed and configured to engage the mobile device. The bed moves between a receiving position and a retaining position. The first armature remains stationary as the bed moves through a first stage of movement between the receiving position and the retaining position and then moves between a first disengaged position and a first engagement position when the bed moves through a second stage of movement between the receiving position and the retaining position. The first armature is configured to secure the mobile-device when the first armature is in the first engagement position.

A stowable docking module includes a translation housing received within a housing sub-assembly for translation between a first, stowed position and a second, deployed position. A docking station sub-assembly is mounted to the translation housing and is pivotably mounted to the translation housing to pivot between a stowed position and a deployed position. The docking station sub-assembly includes a first hook member having a first gripping position and a second gripping position. The first hook member is moveable on the docking station between the first gripping position and the second gripping position. A second hook member is secured to the docking station and arranged to oppose the first hook member. An electronic device may be docked in the stowable docking module by securing the device between the first hook member and the second hook member.

Armrest apparatuses for motor vehicles are provided. In one example, an armrest apparatus comprises an armrest main base. A translating docking station arrangement for holding a nomadic device is operatively coupled to the armrest main base to move relative to the armrest main base between a retracted position and a deployed position. The translating docking station arrangement in the retracted position substantially covers the armrest main base. The translating docking station arrangement in the deployed position is shifted laterally relative to the retracted position.
