A method for producing a locking device of a longitudinal adjustment mechanism of a vehicle seat, includes producing a locking device having a plurality of round locking pins which can be latched into position independently of one another and can be unlatched together, at least one guide part and a notched strip, wherein the guide part is assigned to a seat rail and has guide bores for the locking pins. The notched strip is assigned to a floor rail. The locking pins have an upper actuating end and a lower engagement region interacting with the notched strip. The locking pins are lubricated during the production step or subsequently thereto. During and/or after the lubrication step, each individual locking pin is rotationally driven by a rotary drive unit.

An adjustment mechanism, particularly for the longitudinal adjustment of a seat of a motor vehicle, with a transmission housing () fastened at a first part (), which is displaceable in reference to a second part (), with a transmission being arranged inside the transmission housing (). A spindle () projects from the transmission housing (). The spindle () is coupled via a nut element () to a second part (). The transmission housing () is made from plastic, with at least one repeatedly angled metal insert () being embedded in the plastic. At least one wall () of the metal insert () is aligned orthogonal in reference to the axis (A) of the spindle and at least partially encompasses the spindle () on the side of the transmission housing () allocated to the nut element ().

Adjustment mechanism for the longitudinal adjustment of a seat in a motor vehicle

A seat rail for a motor vehicle seat includes a lower rail, which can be connected to a motor vehicle, and a spindle, which is arranged on the lower rail in a rotationally fixed manner by a spindle retainer. The spindle retainer is fastened to the lower rail by a fastening element extending through a fastening opening on the spindle retainer and a fastening opening on the lower rail. In order to provide a seat rail having a lower rail on which rotation of the spindle retainer is largely precluded, in particular in the event of a threaded floor connection extending through the spindle retainer, the fastening openings and/or the fastening element has a cross-section deviating from a circular shape, preferably a polygonal cross-section, in a connection section arranged in the region of the fastening openings.

The locking device has a guide part which is disposed on the top rail and has at least one guide opening, and for each guide opening there is a blocking part which is disposed so as to be movable in the guide opening. The guide part has a free edge which lies directly opposite an adjacent inner surface of the bottom rail, and before an accident the free edge is located at a small distance from the adjacent inner surface of the bottom rail and after an accident the free edge bears against the adjacent inner surface.
