A clip composed of two similar hooks, pivoting around a common axis, and facing each other. Hooks are biased toward each other around the common pivot by a torsion spring. The two hooks form a loop that retains a dog collar D ring. The tips of the hooks overlap each other, allowing each hook to carry half the load. Finger pads are positioned opposite the hooks, such that when pressure is applied to the finger pads, the hooks are separated, and an ejector tab forces the dog collar D ring into the opening between the hooks, releasing the dog collar D ring. This clip is cold temperature tolerant.

A manual control apparatus, such as a control pedal, is configured for drive-by-wire control systems, and similar applications. In one aspect, the manual control apparatus comprises a hysteresis mechanism that provides more precise and ma controllable hysteresis than previous mechanisms. In a further aspect, the manual control apparatus comprises an angular position sensor, and the angular position sensor housing may comprise abutments that reduce variation in the sensor. In a still further aspect, the manual control apparatus comprises a stop pin that regulates the position of a rotatable member relative to the position sensor with less variation. The stop pin may also be used as a single fastener that holds the manual control apparatus together.

Manual control apparatus

The invention relates to a manual control apparatus, such as a control pedal for a drive-by-wire control systems, and similar applications. According to an aspect of the invention, the manual control apparatus comprises a hysteresis mechanism that provides more precise and controllable hysteresis than previous mechanism. According to a further aspect of the invention, the manual control apparatus comprises an angular position sensor, and the angular position sensor may comprise abutments that reduce variation in the sensor. According to a still further aspect of the invention, the manual control apparatus comprises a stop pin that regulates the position of a rotatable member relative to the position sensor with less variation. The stop pin may also be used as a single fastener the holds the manual control apparatus together.

Manual control apparatus and method

A vacuum operated actuator has a spring biased diaphragm that is exposed on one side to atmosphere and on the other side to a vacuum chamber. An output means is connected to move with the diaphragm and carries a valve means which together with a tube a manually controlled tube operates to connect the vacuum chamber with either atmosphere or with a vacuum source so that the diaphragm and thereby the output moves with the movement and in the direction of the tube so as to provide an output force so as to move the output with a force substantially greater than the input force applied to the tube.

Vacuum operated actuator

The actuator is disposed in the damper piston rod and includes a solenoid with a reciprocating plunger, a motion converting mechanism which converts solenoid reciprocation to rotation of an input driver, an intermediate driver rotatable with the input driver, a rotatable output driver connected to a valve adjusting rotor in the damper piston, and a torsion spring between the intermediate and output drivers. The spring holds the output driver in a following relation to the intermediate driver so that when pressure spikes immobilize the valve rotor and output driver, the input driver can continue to rotate to a control position. When rotor mobility returns, the spring automatically advances the output driver and valve rotor to the same position which would have been achieved had the rotor not been temporarily immobilized.

Actuator for adjustable hydraulic damper

A piezoelectric knock sensor has a case comprising a mounting stud, flexing plate and cover. The flexing plate has a surface provided with a plurality of raised radial ridges. A piezoelectric disk is affixed to the surface with an adhesive and abuts the ridges for improved strain transmission and reliable electrical ground contact. A spring contact further biases the disk against the ridges during assembly bonding of the adhesive; and excess adhesive can flow radially outward between the ridges.

Piezoelectric knock sensor

An accelerator control assembly for an automotive vehicle, the accelerator control assembly being mounted under the instrument panel of the vehicle and includes a pivotably supported lever arm carrying a bumper stop adjustably positioned to be engaged by an element of the accelerator pedal linkage during acceleration, a torsion spring being operatively connected to the lever arm to provide for increased pedal effort during full acceleration, a vacuum actuator being operatively connected to the lever arm to effect positioning of the bumper stop as a function of engine vacuum and a control lever is operatively connected to the lever arm to permit the operator to position the bumper stop between a power setting and an economy setting for engine operation, as desired.

Accelerator control assembly

A vacuum reducer valve assembly senses the engine induction passage vacuum and delivers a reduced vacuum signal to a vacuum motor which advances the ignition timing in proportion to the vacuum signal. The vacuum reducer valve assembly has a member which decreases the difference between the induction passage vacuum and the reduced vacuum signal as atmospheric pressure decreases.
