Polymers containing a repeating unit of the formula &#x2014;[Ar&#x2014;Y&#x2014;Ar']&#x2014; (V), and compounds of formula R&#x2014;Ar&#x2014;Y&#x2014;Ar&#x2032;&#x2014;R(I), where Y is a group of formula and organic devices containing the polymers. The polymers and compounds have excellent solubility in organic solvents and excellent film-forming properties. In addition, high efficiency of energy conversion, excellent field-effect mobility, good on/off current ratios and/or excellent stability can be observed, when the polymers and compounds are used in organic field effect transistors, organic photovoltaics and photodiodes.

Polymers and compounds based on dipyrrolo[1,2-B:1',2'-G][2,6]naphthyridine-5,11-dione

This invention provides 1,4-dihydropyrrolo[3,2-b]pyrrole derivatives which can be used as strongly fluorescent compounds and a one-stage method for their synthesis from simple substrates.

Strongly fluorescent heterocycles and a method for their synthesis

The invention relates to novel compounds of formula (III) that can be used as heterocyclic dyes of unique structure and properties. These compounds can be obtained in a three-step synthesis from simple substrates. The compounds according to the invention have excellent solubility in organic solvents and excellent film-forming properties. In addition, high efficiency of energy conversion, excellent field-effect mobility, good on/off current ratios and/or excellent stability can be observed, when the compounds according to the invention are used in organic field effect transistors, organic photovoltaics (solar cells) and photodiodes. 

Heterocyclic fluorescent dyes and method of production thereof

The present invention relates to polymers comprising one or more (repeating) unit(s) of the formula (I), wherein Y is a group of formula (II); and their use as IR absorber, organic semiconductor in organic devices, especially in organic photovoltaics and photodiodes, or in a device containing a diode and/or an organic field effect transistor. The polymers according to the invention can have excellent solubility in organic solvents 10 and excellent film-forming properties. In addition, high efficiency of energy conversion, excellent field-effect mobility, good on/off current ratios and/or excellent stability can be observed, when the polymers according to the invention are used in organic field effect transistors, organic photovoltaics and photodiodes. 

Polymers based on fused diketopyrrolopyrroles

The invention relates to novel compounds of formula (III) that can be used as heterocyclic dyes of unique structure and properties. These dyes can be obtained in a three-step synthesis from simple substrates. 

This invention provides novel high density memory devices that are electrically addressable permitting effective reading and writing, that provide a high memory density (e.g., 10bits/cm), that provide a high degree of fault tolerance, and that are amenable to efficient chemical synthesis and chip fabrication. The devices are intrinsically latchable, defect tolerant, and support destructive or non-destructive read cycles. In a preferred embodiment, the device comprises a fixed electrode electrically coupled to a storage medium having a multiplicity of different and distinguishable oxidation states wherein data is stored in said oxidation states by the addition or withdrawal of one or more electrons from said storage medium via the electrically coupled electrode.

The devices arc intrinsically latchable, defect tolerant, and support destructive or non-destructive read cycles. In a preferred embodiment, the device comprises a fixed electrode electrically coupled to a storage medium having a multiplicity of different and distinguishable oxidation states wherein data is stored in said oxidation states by the addition or withdrawal of one or more electrons from said storage medium via the electrically coupled electrode.
