A method according to one embodiment includes detecting, by a security, device, an event indicative of a potential security breach. The method also includes determining at least one other device to receive an alert indicating occurrence of the event in response to detecting the event. The method includes sending, by the security device, an alert indicating occurrence of the event to the at least one other device in response to detecting the event. A method according to another embodiment includes monitoring, by a security device, for an event indicative of a potential security breach. The method also includes receiving, by the security device, an alert indicating occurrence of a potential security breach from a second security device. The method includes changing a state of the security device in response to receiving the alert.

Smart lock system

An audio segment recorded by an individual is stored in a computational device controlled by an entity, where the computational device is coupled to a telephony device having a speaker and a microphone that are configurable to be enabled or disabled by the computational device. An electronic communication is initiated to the individual via the telephony device when the speaker and the microphone are both enabled. The stored audio segment is retrieved from an audio recording database that stores a plurality of audio segments of a plurality of individuals and played to the individual to authenticate the entity, in response to the initiating of the electronic communication to the individual.

An apparatus for indicating the location of a signal emitting tag. The apparatus includes signal detectors, control logic, and at least one light producing device. The control logic activates the light producing device in response to receiving data from the signal detectors. After activation, the light producing device illuminates the location of an individual that is near the point of origin of a signal that was detected by the signal detectors.
