A system includes an implantable device including a pump to pump the fluid from the peritoneum to the bladder via respective catheters, control circuitry, battery and transceiver; a charging and communication system configured to periodically charge the battery and communicate with the implantable device to retrieve data reflective of the patient's health; and monitoring and control software, suitable for use with conventional personal computers, for configuring and controlling operation of the implantable device and charging and communication system. The monitoring and control software allows a treating physician to remotely adjust the volume, time, and frequency with which fluid is pumped from the peritoneal cavity to the bladder based on the data reflective of the patient's health.

Systems and methods for fluid management

A fluid management system for the treatment of ascites, pleural effusion or pericardial effusion is provided including an implantable device including a pump, control circuitry, battery and transceiver; a charging and communication system configured to periodically charge the battery and communicate with the implantable device to retrieve performance data; and monitoring and control software, suitable for use with conventional personal computers, for configuring and controlling operation of the implantable device and charging and communication system. The implantable device includes a number of features that provide automated movement of fluid to the bladder with reduced risk of clogging, with no patient involvement other than occasional recharging of the battery of the implantable device. Methods of using a fluid management system

An occluding device for closing a body passage comprises an occluding body (), a first position control element () and a second position control element (). The occluding body () is a balloon made of a flexible and fluid tight material without shape memory property. The occluding body () comprises a proximal chamber () and a distal chamber () and a connecting Channel () connecting these two chambers (). The occluding body () is compressible into a first longitudinal shape. A proximal end of the occluding body () is attached to the first position control element () and the distal end of the balloon is attached to the second position control element (). The first position control element () and the second position control element () are two matching parts of a fluid tight closure of the balloon. No additional stiffening means for stiffening the balloon in its third radially extended but longitudinally compressed State are arranged within the occluding body ().

Occluding device

An implant for occluding a passage in a circulatory system of a human body comprises elongate members () which can be twisted into fixation structures and at least two occluding bodies () being attached to the elongate members () and being arranged at a distance to each other. This implant combines the advantages of a single occluding body implant with the advantages of a double occluding body implant.

A breast pump set for expressing human breastmilk comprises a breastshield () to be placed on the female breast with a coupling part () for connection to a milk collection container (), and an electrically driven suction pump ('). The breastshield () is provided with an actuator () for actuating the suction pump. The inventive breast pump seat allows easy handling of the suction pump and eliminates the need for the mother to have a hand free for handling.

An implant for occluding a passage in a circulatory system is provided. The implant in one form includes a plurality of thin wire-like members each having a proximal and a distal end and a first holder to which the distal ends of the members are attached. The proximal ends of the members are attached to a second holder. The implant includes an expansible occluding body attached to the members at a point intermediate the first and second holders. A carrier rod is releasably attached to the first holder and upon which the second holder is slidably received.
