A gear box for a working machine is arranged to be positioned in a first set of speed-changing gears and a second set of speed-changing gears. The gear box includes a gear box housing, an input shaft configured to receive torque, and an output shaft for supplying torque out, from the gear box, wherein the output shaft is connected to a planetary gear set of the gear box, a friction disc clutch arrangement which is arranged between a ring gear of the planetary gear set and the gear box housing for enabling connection of the ring gear to the gear box housing, and a control unit configured to controllably alternate the friction disc clutch arrangement between: an engaged state and an at least partially engaged state when the gear box is positioned in the first set of speed-changing gears, and between a disengaged state and an at least partially engaged state when the gear box is positioned in the second set of speed-changing gears. A corresponding method for controlling a gear box is also provided.

A continuously variable transmission includes a variator unit having a variator input shaft and a variator output shaft; a first planetary gear set having a first, a second and a third planetary member, the first planetary member being one of a ring wheel and a planet carrier, the second planetary member being the other one of the ring wheel and the planet carrier, and the third planetary member being a sun wheel, wherein the first planetary member of the first planetary gear set is operatively connected to a transmission input shaft; and a second planetary gear set having a sun wheel, a ring wheel and a planet carrier, the planet carrier being operatively connected to a transmission output shaft; wherein the variator input shaft is operatively connected to the second planetary member of the first planetary gear set; the variator output shaft is operatively connected to the sun wheel of the first planetary gear set, the sun wheel of the first planetary gear set being further operatively connected to the sun wheel of the second planetary gear set while having a variable gear ratio between the transmission input shaft and the transmission output shaft; and the ring wheel of the second planetary gear set being selectively connectable to the second planetary member of the first planetary gear set and to a gearbox housing of the continuously variable transmission.

A multi-clutch transmission for a motor vehicle with a prime mover has a main transmission, a range section and an output shaft, the main transmission including one input shaft, a main shaft and a main countershaft, the main shaft being rotationally fixed with a range input shaft of the range section, the range section including a range main shaft that is rotationally fixed with the output shaft, a range countershaft, range gearwheels that can selectively transfer power from the range input member to the range countershaft and on to the range main shaft, and range clutches, the multi-clutch transmission including a by-passing torque path in which power can be transferred when the range section is shifted, and where the by-passing torque path includes a by-passing clutch that selectively can rotationally lock the main countershaft to the range countershaft.

Multi-clutch transmission for a motor vehicle

A powershift transmission in a motor vehicle is arranged between a prime mover and driven wheels of the motor vehicle for transmission of propulsive power and selection of different gear speed ratios. The powershift transmission includes at least two factional clutches for alternatively engaging at least two input shafts, a main transmission, a range section and an output shaft. A countershaft in the powershift transmission is rotationally connectable to the output shaft in order to establish a by-pass torque path, passing by the range section, and in which propulsive power can be transferred when the range section is gear shifted between different range speed ratios.
