Embodiments are generally directed to a securable inner drug delivery plug or stopper that is configured to be inserted into, and secured (retained) within, an opening of the inner ear of a recipient. The securable inner drug delivery plug is configured to deliver drugs directly into the inner ear.

Inner ear plug

Presented herein are magnet arrangements for use with encapsulated implantable components. An implantable component comprises an implant body and a plurality of wire loops forming an internal coil that are encapsulated in a biocompatible overmolding. The implantable component also comprises a bone fixture positioned proximate to the plurality of wire loops and an implantable magnet attached to the bone fixture.

Implantable magnet arrangements

An apparatus includes a stimulation assembly having an elongate body and a plurality of stimulation elements longitudinally spaced from one another along a portion of the elongate body. The stimulation assembly includes a first set of the stimulation elements and a second set of the stimulation elements. The apparatus further includes a tube over the second set of the stimulation elements. The tube is configured to be removed from the stimulation assembly.

Treatment of the ear

Embodiments presented herein are generally directed to a perioperative implant cover configured to cover at least a portion of an implantable component during portions of the perioperative period (i.e., preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases of surgery) in which the implantable component is susceptible to bacteria contamination. By covering the implantable component during these portions of the perioperative period, the cover reduces the possibility of bacteria contamination and subsequent perioperative colonization.

Presented herein are implantable systems and methods for long-term delivery of treatment substance to the ear of a recipient of an implantable auditory prosthesis.

A magnet is completely encased within a body of a biocompatible implant. The body of the biocompatible implant is formed so as to allow for removal of the magnet after implantation in a recipient. The body includes a portion that is at least partially separable from the remainder of the body, either by application of a removing agent or a tool. The magnet can be removed and replaced. Thereafter, the body can be sealed or the magnet can be left exposed.
