Modular vehicle seats having water-permeable seating surfaces are disclosed. A disclosed vehicle seat includes a seat portion configured to hold a seated person. The seat portion includes a substantially unitary molded frame defining a first opening and a cavity associated with the first opening. The seat portion further includes a first substantially non-absorbent, water-permeable membrane configured to cover at least a portion of the first opening to provide support to the seated person. The substantially unitary molded frame comprises at least a second opening configured to enable water passing through the first substantially non-absorbent, water-permeable membrane and into the cavity to be discharged from the cavity. The disclosed seat further includes a back portion coupled to the seat portion. The back portion includes a peripheral frame member defining a third opening at least a portion of which is covered with a second substantially non-absorbent, water-permeable membrane.

An elastomeric fabric load bearing surface having a non-linear force/deflection profile. In one embodiment, the load bearing surface includes multiple layers, at least one of which is an elastomeric fabric. The various layers cooperate with one another to define a non-linear force/deflection profile. In one embodiment, the load bearing surface includes an upper layer of elastomeric fabric and a lower layer of elastomeric fabric, and the two layers are stretched in different directions. In a second aspect, the load bearing surface includes at least one layer of elastomeric fabric that follows a non-linear pattern. In one embodiment of this second aspect, the fabric defines a body-supporting surface and includes a plurality of undulations away from the body-supporting surface.

A hinge for an enclosure is disclosed. The hinge includes a hinge rod and a bushing. The hinge rod is secured to one of a door and a door jamb of the enclosure. The bushing is secured to the other of the door and the door jamb of the enclosure. Moreover, the hinge rod slidably engages the bushing to allow the door to pivot about the door jamb.

In a preferred embodiment, a joint for joining a first panel and a second panel of a portable restroom includes a first jaw section, a second jaw section, and an outer bumper section. The first jaw section is adapted to allow insertion and removal of the first panel along a first axis and to provide engagement to the first panel in all directions perpendicular to the first axis. The second jaw section is adapted to allow insertion and removal of the second panel along a second axis and to provide engagement to the second panel in all directions perpendicular to the second axis. The outer bumper section has a first edge connected to the first jaw section and a second edge connected to the second jaw section.
