The present disclosure relates to a method of operating an automatic analysis apparatus for determining a parameter of a sample liquid which depends on the concentration of an analyte in the sample liquid on the basis of a first measurement variable detected by the analysis apparatus, wherein the analysis apparatus comprises an optical measuring transducer with a measurement unit, the method including: a) providing a reaction mixture comprising the sample liquid in the measurement unit; b) detecting a first measurement variable for determining the parameter; c) detecting a second measurement variable if step b) reveals that the concentration of the analyte in the reaction mixture is outside the measuring range of the analysis apparatus for detecting the first measurement variable; d) diluting the reaction mixture with dilution liquid as a function of the second measurement variable; and e) re-detecting the first measurement variable for determining the parameter.

Method of operating an automatic analysis apparatus and automatic analysis apparatus

A method for determining a parameter includes forming a reaction mixture by adding a volume of a solution to a sample. The solution contains a substance acting as a reaction partner for the analyte, where the reaction partner enters into a chemical reaction with the analyte, forming a reaction product of the analyte. The volume of the solution is adjusted, based on measured values of a physical or chemical measurand which are detected during the addition of the solution in the reaction mixture and whose value depends on the concentration of the analyte or of the substance in the reaction mixture. A titration of the solution to be titrated is subsequently performed from which a quantity of the substance present in the reaction mixture after addition of the volume of the solution is determinable, and a value of the parameter is ascertained using the titration.

Method for determining a parameter dependent on the concentration of at least one analyte in a sample liquid

A titration apparatus includes a titration measuring cell with a titration vessel, a valve device, and a first pump for sucking liquid through a first fluid line into a temporary storage container and transporting it via a second fluid line into the titration vessel. The temporary storage container is arranged in a fluid path between the first pump and the valve device. A third fluid line connects the first pump to the temporary storage container and is filled with a working liquid that does not affect the titration. A second pump conveys a volumetric solution into the titration vessel. An electronic controller controls the first and the second pumps and the valve device to convey a liquid from the first liquid supply into the temporary storage container to transport the liquid into the titration vessel and transport the volumetric solution into the titration vessel to carry out titration.

A TOC analyzer for determining a carbon content of a sample includes: a processing unit for removing carbon dioxide gas from the carrier gas before the oxidation of the sample, wherein the processing unit has a binder for binding the carbon dioxide gas from the carrier gas, wherein a defined water content is provided within the binder, wherein the processing unit is configured for moistening the binder by means of water vapor contained in the carrier gas; a condensation unit for condensing the water vapor resulting from the vaporization and/or oxidation of the sample to form a condensate, wherein the condensation unit has an outlet for the condensate toward a moistening unit; and the moistening unit for moistening the carrier gas by means of the condensate. The present disclosure relates to a measuring cell for carrying out chemical analyses, having a vessel, in which at least one liquid to be analyzed is located; a heating wire, which is guided at least partially around an outer wall of the vessel, so that the liquid inside the vessel can be heated in a uniform and controlled manner; and a first temperature sensor, which determines and/or monitors a first temperature of the liquid. The measuring cell furthermore comprises a magnetic stirrer with a stir bar and a cover for closing the vessel, wherein the cover has a plurality of ducts, wherein at least one first duct is provided for at least one first analysis sensor, which determines and/or monitors at least one chemical and/or physical variable of the liquid of the vessel and wherein at least one second duct is provided for a liquid line.

The present disclosure relates to a capsule for preparing a solution for use with a measuring device for determining a measurand that depends on a concentration of at least one analyte in a sample. The capsule includes a wall completely enclosing an interior, at least one substance accommodated within the interior, and at least one stirring body. The present disclosure also relates to a system, which includes at least one capsule and a liquid container closed in a liquid-tight manner, which contains a predetermined volume of a liquid containing a solvent. In addition, the wall of the capsule is formed from a material which dissolves at least partially in the solvent.

The present disclosure relates to a method for diluting a sample liquid taken from a sampling point for the subsequent determination of a parameter which depends on a concentration of at least one analyte in the sample liquid, including: supplying a first quantity of the sample liquid to a mixing device via a first sample liquid line; supplying a second quantity of the sample liquid to a separator via a second sample liquid line; separating the analyte from the second quantity of the sample liquid supplied to the separator by means of the separator to obtain a dilution liquid that no longer contains the analyte, and mixing at least one portion of the first quantity of the sample liquid supplied to the mixing device via the first sample liquid line with at least one portion of the dilution liquid by means of the mixing device.

The present disclosure relates to a method for operating an automatic analysis apparatus for determining a parameter of a sample liquid, including: flushing a measurement unit of the analysis apparatus with a first volume of the sample liquid; discharging the first volume of the sample liquid into a collection container containing a waste liquid mixture; producing diluted sample liquid by mixing a second volume of the sample liquid with a dilution liquid using a dilution unit; producing a reaction mixture of at least a portion of the diluted sample liquid and at least one reagent; detecting a measured value of a measurement variable of the reaction mixture in the measurement unit; and, after detecting the measured value, discharging the reaction mixture from the measurement unit into the collection container, wherein the dilution liquid is recovered from the waste liquid mixture contained in the collection container.
