A microwave barrier system is provided, including: a first microwave barrier including a first microwave transmitter and receiver, the first transmitter including an electrically tunable microwave generator and being configured to be operated at a selectable microwave frequency; and a second microwave barrier including a second microwave transmitter and receiver, the second transmitter including an electrically tunable microwave generator and being configured to be operated at a selectable microwave frequency, the system being configured to determine microwave operating channels in an available frequency range for microwave barriers by one of the receivers, and to assign a respective microwave operating channel to at least one of the barriers to reduce mutual interference between the barriers, the barriers further including respective communication devices to signal-couple the respective receiver with the respective transmitter to transmit a microwave operating channel for operation of the barriers from the receivers to the transmitters.

Microwave barrier system

A radar transmitter for process and manufacturing automation, level measurement or level limit determination. The radar transmitter includes a generator adapted to generate microwaves, an antenna connected to the generator and adapted to transmit the microwaves from the generator, and a carrier plate. Here, the antenna, by way of an L-shaped angled component, is arranged substantially perpendicular to a printed circuit board and is configured to transmit the microwaves perpendicular to a surface normal of the printed circuit board.

The antenna is adapted to communicatively connect the printed circuit board to an external device, the horn antenna comprises the form of a hollow truncated cone, and at least an inner side of the horn antenna is provided with a metallic material. Furthermore, the antenna, the horn antenna, the printed circuit board and the casting compound are arranged within the plastic housing, and the antenna and the horn antenna are at least partially surrounded by the casting compound.

A radar fill level measurement device for determining a fill level of a medium is provided, including a transmitter configured to transmit a transmission signal towards the medium; a receiver configured to receive a reception signal reflected by the medium; and a controller configured to determine the fill level of the medium based on the reception signal and based on at least one evaluation parameter, the radar fill level measurement device being configured to vary a transmitting power of the transmission signal, the controller being further configured to determine a current transmitting power of the transmission signal, and the controller being further configured to vary, based on the determined current transmitting power, a value of the at least one evaluation parameter and/or at least one measurement signal that correlates with the reception signal, such that the fill level is determined taking into account the transmitting power.

A radar transceiver chip for transmitting a transmission signal and for receiving a received signal is proposed. The radar transceiver chip includes a transmitting branch, a receiving branch, a coupler, by means of which the transmitting branch is coupled to the receiving branch, and exactly one antenna terminal for connecting an external antenna to the radar transceiver chip. The coupler is coupled to the antenna terminal and is configured to output at least a portion of the transmission signal to the antenna terminal and to feed at least a portion of the received signal, received via the antenna terminal, into the receiving branch, the receiving branch comprising a receiving mixer which is configured to generate an intermediate frequency signal on the basis of the received signal.

Exemplary waveguide coupling configuration can be provided for a fill level radar antenna, e.g., in the form of a line scanner. The exemplary waveguide coupling configuration can include a waveguide openings on the antenna side which can have a distance from one another that can correspond to less than or equal to one half of the wavelength of the transmission signal. For example, the distance between adjacent radiator elements can be greater than one half of the wavelength of the transmission signal. In this exemplary manner, more space can be provided for a front end on the printed circuit board.

A radar fill level measurement device can be provided, which comprises a frequency synthesizer configured to generate an oscillator signal, a high-frequency signal generation module configured to generate a transmission signal based on the oscillator signal, and an energy-supply module configured to supply electrical energy to the frequency synthesizer and the high-frequency signal generation module. Associated methods and computer-accessible medium can also be provided. The frequency synthesizer can comprise a control device, a reference oscillator and a phase-locked loop. The phase-locked loop can comprise a phase-locked device and an oscillator. The phase-locked loop can be configured to adjust a frequency of the oscillator signal to a target value, and the phase-locked device can be configured to provide a control signal for the control device when the frequency of the oscillator signal has reached the target value. The control device can also be configured to actuate the energy-supply module to supply the electrical energy to the high-frequency signal generation module before the control signal is provided by the phase-locked device.

Radar fill level measurement device

An exemplary fill level measurement device comprising a radar module can be provided, along with method, computer-executable instructions and computer-readable medium. The radar module can comprise a receiving channel for receiving a radar signal reflected by a filling medium. The fill level measurement device can also comprise a test module for testing the functionality of the receiving channel. The test module can comprise a test input (for feeding in a test signal having a test frequency, and a feeding-in apparatus configured to feed at least part of the test signal into the receiving channel. The feeding-in apparatus can be configured to superpose and/or combine the test signal with the radar signal reflected by the filling medium. The receiving channel of the radar module can further comprise a mixing device having an intermediate frequency output. The mixing device can be configured to output the test frequency of the test signal at the intermediate frequency output when the receiving channel is functioning correctly.

A radar fill level measurement device includes a radar sensor unit which has comprising a radar antenna emitting a measurement signal towards a filling material surface. The radar fill level measurement device in addition includes a limit level sensor unit determining a fill level of the filling material. The limit level sensor unit detects when the spacing between the filling material surface and the radar antenna falls below a minimum spacing. The radar antenna arrangement includes a radar antenna horn which has a housing and/or a cover, and a limit level sensor unit.
