The LEDs in a phototherapy LED pad are controlled so that the intensity of the light varies in accordance with a sinusoidal function, thereby eliminating the harmonics that are generated when the LEDs are pulsed digitally. This is accomplished analogically by using a sinusoidal wave to control the gate of a MOSFET connected in series with the LEDs or by using a digital-to-analog converter to control the gate of the MOSFET with a stair step function representative of the values of a sinusoidal function at predetermined intervals. Alternatively, pulse-width modulation is used to control the gate of the MOSFET in such a way that the average current through the LEDs simulates a sinusoidal function. In additional to using a simple sine wave function, the LED current may also be controlled in accordance with 'chords' containing multiple sine waves of different frequencies.

Phototherapy system with dynamic drive for light-emitting diodes

Sinusoidal drive system and method for phototherapy

In a flexible LED pad for use in phototherapy treatment of humans or animals, the PCBs in the pad are securely linked together with electrical connectors and ribbon cables to prevent the connections from being broken as the flexible pad is bent or otherwise deformed during the treatment. In one embodiment, low-profile socket connectors are mounted to the PCBs and mate with plug connectors at the ends of the ribbon cables. For similar reasons, the LED pad may be connected to an LED control unit by means of an electrical connector (e.g. a USB socket) mounted to a PCB in the LED pad. The PCBs, on which the LEDs are mounted, are fitted into a downset in the flexible pad to prevent the LEDs from becoming misaligned with openings in the flexible pad.

Flexible LED light pad for phototherapy

A golf club head includes a transparent cylinder with a sight on top and target on the bottom for indicating to the golfer when the club head is level and on line. An exemplary sight includes a centered disk surrounded by concentric rings; some rings being transparent. The target includes a larger central disk sounded by concentric rings of contrasting color or pattern. At the preferred club orientation, the center of the sight is vertically aligned with the center of the target and the vertical sight picture includes at least four concentric colored or patterned rings. In a second embodiment, the sight and target each include a swing stripe in the swing direction. The relative location of the sight and target centers and swing stripes show the golfer the position of the club head relative to the ball and aid in swing smoothness.

A fluid delivery system includes one or more measure modules for measuring and delivering predetermined volumes of one or more different fluids. Each measure module includes a fluid inlet port, a retention vessel, an overflow aperture to allow fluid in excess of the desired volume to flow out of the vessel, and an outlet port for dispensing the retained fluid. A calibrating rod adjustably occupies a portion of the volume of the vessel to facilitate precise adjustment of the volume of fluid dispensed by the measure module. In one particular embodiment, a blender includes a plurality of measure modules whose outputs are coupled together to produce a mixture having a composition defined by the relative capacities of the vessels of the various measure modules. In another particular embodiment, one blender dilutes a chemical concentrate, and provides the diluted mixture to another blender, which further dilutes the mixture.

System and method for accurately blending fluids

The waste liquid collection and transfer system includes at least one waste liquid transfer vessel that has a liquid input valve and a liquid output valve for controlling the flow of waste liquid therethrough. A pressurized gas liquid transfer system including at least one control valve is utilized to provide pressurized gas to said vessel to control the flow of liquid therefrom. A liquid drain line is engaged from the vessel to a liquid collection tank, and a liquid level alarm device is engaged to the tank to provide an alarm if the level in the tank becomes too high. An electronic system controller is engaged to the alarm device and to the various valves to control the flow of liquid throughout the system. When an alarm signal is received by the system controller the vessels are first emptied and thereafter allowed to become full, acting in this instance as additional waste liquid storage containers. When the vessels are full, the system controller shuts down the flow of liquid to the vessels. When the flow of liquid to the vessels is shut down by the system controller, it may then become necessary to shut down the chemical process equipment that generates the waste liquid.

Waste liquid collection system

The liquid transfer system includes a liquid supply tank and at least two pressurizable liquid holding vessels. The liquid holding vessels are placed beneath the supply tank, and a liquid supply line connects the supply tank to each vessel. The liquid supply line is operated as a siphon from the tank to each vessel, in order to move liquid from the tank to each vessel. Each vessel is alternately filled and pressurized to dispense liquid from the vessel, such that one vessel is being filled while the other is dispensing liquid, and a constant controllable liquid output flow is achieved. A preferred embodiment includes a liquid recycling line to recycle or constantly move the liquid within the system to achieve thorough mixing, and an in-line filter to improve liquid purity.

Liquid transfer system

An electronic game having a capability to vary the probabilities of events happening to simulate choices that are made in actual games. A baseball electronic game is specifically described having a miniature baseball field representation with lights indicating positions of runners on the bases and a score board. The disposition of each batter is determined by random electronic generator. The batting average resulting from the generator can be altered for a short period of time by the players selecting a relief pitcher mode or a pinch hitter mode for one or a few batters and only for a few times during each game.
