A battery box for a hybrid or electric vehicle, the battery box including a pair of longitudinal walls and a pair of lateral walls that cooperate with a drop-in floor to define an interior compartment of the battery box for holding one or more batteries. The battery box includes corner junctions where the lateral walls are attached to the longitudinal walls and further includes corner shields that are placed over the corner junctions. The corner shields are externally mounted outside of the interior compartment and provide fluid tight sealing over the corner junctions. The longitudinal and lateral walls are made of dual phase steel. The corner shields have complex corners and are therefore made of draw steel.

Corner shield for electric vehicle battery box

An exhaust gas heat recovery system includes a housing assembly, a valve assembly and a heat exchanger. The valve assembly is disposed within the housing assembly and includes a shaft and a plate. The plate is rotatable between a first position whereat exhaust gas flow through a first fluid passageway is allowed and exhaust gas flow through a second exhaust gas passageway is prevented, and a second position whereat exhaust gas flow through the second fluid passageway is allowed and exhaust gas flow through the first gas passageway is prevented. The heat exchanger assembly includes a heater core having a working fluid circulating therein. The working fluid is in thermal communication with fluid in the heater core. The housing assembly includes first and second shells attached to each other at a joint. An axis of the shaft being at the joint of the first and second shells.

An exhaust mixer () is provided for use in an engine exhaust system () downstream from an additive injector (). The mixer () includes eight vanes (), with four of the vanes (A) extending from a first side () of the mixer () and arranged in an equally spaced circumferential array around a central axis (), and the other four of the vanes (B) extending from an opposite side () of the mixer () and arranged opposite from the other four vanes (A) in an equally spaced circumferential array.
