A method for intaking a bag containing currency or bank checks can include receiving, at a first computing device having one or more processors, a first input from a second computing device the defines a pre-staged transaction. The method can also include generating, with the first computing device, a scannable token correlated to the first input and communicated to the second computing device. The method can also include scanning, with a scanner at an after-hours depository (AHD), the scannable token from a display of the second computing device. The method can also include controlling, with a third computing device of the AHD, an actuator to unlock a door of the AHD and receiving the bag through an inlet of a chute of the AHD that extends between the door and a safe of the AHD.

Described herein is a technique for cashing a check at an automated banking machine. A check is presented via a check acceptor which obtains check data from the check, the check data comprises an amount. If the amount of the check is greater than a predetermined threshold, or limit, the user is asked to provide additional identification, such as a driver's license. A driver's license scanner reads data from the driver's license. The data read from a driver's license may include a hologram and/or a bar code.

In an example embodiment, an automated banking machine that allows a customer to employ a mobile wireless device for performing banking transactions. The customer may request assistance from a teller or other bank personnel at a remote location. An audio, and optionally video, communication may be initiated between the remote location and the customer. If a withdrawal is greater than or equal to the threshold, a first portion of the cash is dispensed responsive to authorization from a first transaction authorization computer and a second portion of the cash amount is dispensed responsive to authorization from a second transaction authorization computer.

An exemplary system includes an automated banking machine which is operable to conduct transactions including cash dispensing for users responsive to communication with a transaction host. The machine is also operative to provide output signals which drive external displays which are separate from the machine. The machine is operable to receive visual and audio content from one or more broadcast content sources and to store the content in the machine. The content is then output through the external displays. The machine is also operative to receive and store a plurality of advertising messages. The advertising messages are output in a targeted manner to users of the machine.

In an example embodiment, an automated banking machine that includes a computer, a camera, a display and an audio output device and is operative to cause visual outputs through the display and audio outputs through the audio output device, which correspond to a simulated person. The camera is in operative connection with the computer, and provides camera data to the computer. The computer is responsive at least in part to the camera data to cause eyes of the output simulated person to be directed toward the eyes of the machine user.

In an example embodiment, a router that is configured to pass a pneumatic carrier therethrough and comprises a solid continuous curved tube, a tube rotational support, and a drive. The tube includes a first open end and a second open end opposed of the first open end. The tube rotational support is in operative supporting connection with the tube and enables the tube to rotate about an axis. The first open end is generally aligned with the first opening. In a first rotational position of the tube, the second open end is generally aligned with a first of the plurality of second openings. In a second rotational position of the tube, the second open end is generally aligned with a second of the plurality of second openings. The drive is operative to cause the tube to move between the first and second rotational positions.

The machine is operable to receive visual and/or audio content from remote content sources, store data corresponding to the content, and then output the content through the external displays.

An automated banking machine allows an authorized user to carry out transactions such as withdrawing cash, making a deposit, cashing a check, and transferring funds between accounts. The machine provides a transaction selection screen through a touch screen display. The transaction selection screen includes a plurality of visually different icons. Each icon represents a different transaction that is available to the current machine user. The user can select a particular transaction by dragging its representative icon with a contacting finger. Upon selection of the particular transaction, a display screen unique to that particular transaction is then provided through the touch screen display.
