A tool to facilitate attachment and detachment of cable connectors. The tool includes a backstop plate for engaging a cable connector receptacle housing, an overmold plate for engaging a cable connector being insertibly connected into a cable connector receptacle, and a rotational means passing through a rotational acceptor formed as part of the overmold plate and rotatably attached to the backstop plate. The rotational means causes the overmold plate to approach the backstop plate upon application of a first spin direction of the rotational means and causing the overmold plate to recede from the backstop plate upon application of a second spin direction of the rotational means. The overmold plate approaching the backstop plate causes the engaged cable connector to be insertibly connected into the cable connector receptacle housing and the overmold plate receding from the backstop plate causes the engaged cable connector to be removed.

An imaging device is provided that may be used for visually inspecting structures. In one embodiment, the imaging device includes an image capture device; and a rail system having a stationary component connected to the image capture device and a sliding component for movement along a horizontal axis. The system can further include a jig structure engaged to the sliding component of the rail system. The jig structure may include a first mount location for engagement to a first type connector and a second mount location for engagement to a second type connector. The jig structure is engaged to the sliding component to position the housing so that the first and second mount locations are in line and parallel to a direction of travel along the horizontal axis including a point at which the first and second mount locations pass through the imaging location.

Disclosed embodiments provide a computer-implemented technique for selection and/or modification of surgical simulation scenarios based on patient similarity cohort identification. Prior to undergoing surgery, medical information of a patient, including genomic, physiological, and/or environmental data, is used to identify a patient cohort. The patient cohort represents a statistically significant sample size of similar patients, and complications that may have arose during similar surgical procedures to the procedure planned for the patient. Relevant scenarios are identified based on the patient cohort. These scenarios are then input to a surgical simulation system. The surgical simulation system may be implemented by virtual reality, augmented reality, and/or physical workpieces used for surgical practice and training. This can increase the probability of a successful outcome for the patient, and furthermore save costs by reducing the risk of malpractice lawsuits, thereby potentially lowering overall healthcare costs.

Dynamic injection of medical training scenarios based on patient similarity cohort identification

An augmented-reality system interacts with a physical object that has been embossed or otherwise labeled with one or more bar-code identifiers. The system extracts data from each identifier and uses each element of extracted data to select a computer-generated texture or object. When displaying the augmented-reality environment to a user, the system either replaces the physical object with the computer-generated object or applies the computer-generated texture to a region of a rendered surface of the computer-generated object. The application's selection of computer-generated objects or textures may be modified at any time by a user command, a context-sensitive or environmental factor, an occurrence of a certain virtual event within the augmented-reality environment, or a configuration setting. A physical object labeled with multiple identifiers may be rendered in the augmented-reality environment as multiple computer-generated objects or with multiple textures that each correspond to a distinct identifier and that may be manipulated independently.
