Scavenging compounds and compositions useful for scavenging hydrogen sulfide from streams are disclosed. The scavenging compositions may include a suspension of a metal component, a carrier solvent, and a polymer comprising styrene, propylene and ethylene. The streams may include asphalt, crude oil, naphtha, liquefied petroleum gas, vacuum gas oil, fuel oil, atmospheric tower bottoms, bitumen, and any combination of these streams.

The method comprising introducing into the subterranean formation via a well-bore a diverter composition, the diverter composition comprising a combination of at least one deformable particle and at least one non-deformable particle; and allowing the diverter composition to block the flow of at least a portion of a treatment fluid from a first location within the well-bore to a second location.

The controlled release scale inhibitors comprise amorphous glass which is a reaction product of a phosphorus-containing compound, a calcium-containing compound, a magnesium-containing compound and base. The composition has a predetermined dissolution rate for controlled release of scale inhibitors in induced hydraulic fractures in hydraulic fracturing treatment of oil or gas wells.

Controlled release solid scale inhibitors

A coated particulate composition includes a vitreous polyphosphate glass particulate and a coating on at least a portion of the surface of the particulate, the coating comprising a water-insoluble polymer or a water-insoluble particulate, wherein the coating weight is about 0.01 wt % to 90 wt % of the mass of the coated particulate. The particulates provide long-term scale inhibition downhole in subterranean reservoirs where temperatures exceed 70&#xb0; C.

Slow-release scale inhibiting compositions

Compositions and methods of preparation and use for controlled release scale inhibitors used in hydraulic fracturing operations in oil and gas wells. The controlled release scale inhibitors comprise modified polyphosphate glasses having predetermined dissolution rates for controlled release of chemical inhibitors in induced hydraulic fractures in hydraulic fracturing treatment of oil and/or gas wells.
