A method and system for providing recording device privileges through biometric assessment are disclosed herein. An embodiment of the method includes monitoring information associated with a recording device. The information includes a recording device location, dynamic biometric data, knowledge data, and recording device identification data. From the monitored information, an identity of a then-current user of the recording device is determined. An authorization level for the then-current user is determined, and recording device access privileges are dynamically adjusted based on the determined authorization level.

Method and system for providing recording device privileges through biometric assessment

A method of creating a virtual lead associated with a physiological recording is provided. The method can include obtaining a first physiological signal from a first lead having a first angle and a second physiological signal from a second lead having a second angle, the first lead and the second lead being associated with a subject. The method can also include transforming the first and second physiological signals into a vector representation of the first and second physiological signals and transforming the vector representation to a virtual physiological signal representing a virtual lead having a virtual lead angle.

Methods of generating a virtual lead associated with a physiological recording

A method for making a patient monitor includes providing an electronic device operatively connected to the monitor. The device is configured to measure predetermined signals from a user and to generate therefrom a substantially unique signature specific to the user. The method further includes storing the signature in the electronic device. The electronic device is adapted to compare newly acquired signatures to the substantially unique signature, and to recognize at least one difference from the substantially unique signature. Recognition of a difference in the signatures signifies a new user, whereupon the electronic device acquires new predetermined signals and generates therefrom a new substantially unique signature specific to the new user.

A method of providing customized medical monitoring to a patient is disclosed. The method can include steps of selecting a medical monitoring device for a patient, where the medical monitoring device is associated with a biological transducer, determining at least one desired monitoring parameter, and customizing locally the medical monitoring device to monitor the desired monitoring parameter collected by the biological transducer. The method may further include steps of providing the medical monitoring device to the patient, and monitoring at least one health parameter of the patient from a remote location. The medical monitoring device can also be customized remotely.

A method of optimizing retention of signal information from a physiologically generated digital signal is provided. The method can comprise steps of generating a digital signal from a physiological source, storing the digital signal into a memory location as a stored digital signal, identifying within the stored digital signal a preferred digital signal event exclusive of a non-preferred digital signal event, wherein the preferred digital signal event has a first event compression level and the non-preferred digital signal event has a second event compression level, detecting a memory storage limitation in the memory location, and increasing the second event compression level of the non-preferred digital signal event as a result of detecting a memory storage limitation. Also, the portable monitor can detect the presence of an upload source to which the digital signal can be uploaded in order to minimize the need to compress the signal.

A transducer-based sensor system including a drive signal generator for generating a drive signal, a transducer coupled to the drive signal generator and configured to receive the drive signal, a mixer coupled to the transducer and configured to receive output from the transducer where such output results at least in part from physical movement of the transducer, and a diplexer operatively coupled with an output of the mixer and configured to present a substantially matched output impedance to the mixer over an operative range of output frequencies.

Systems, methodologies, media, and other embodiments associated with electrocardiogram electrode characterization and compensation are described. One exemplary system embodiment includes a characterization logic configured to generate signals designed to facilitate characterizing an electrocardiogram electrode. The characterization logic may also be configured to analyze signals produced in response to introducing the signals into a subject. The example system may also include a compensation logic configured to determine whether an electrode is performing in a desired manner and to selectively compensate for electrode performance.

The transducers of each group are adapted to be placed in operative proximity with a sample material. Within each transducer group, each transducer is actuable via application of a different phase-shifted variant of a local oscillator signal to the transducer. The sensor system is also configured so that, for each transducer group, the phase-shifted variants of the local oscillator signal are selectively employed during output processing to inhibit cross-transducer interference occurring between simultaneously active transducers.

Transducer-based sensor system with multiple drive signal variants

A transducer-based sensor system, including a transducer array having a plurality of transducers, a selector coupled with the transducer array and an output processing subsystem. Defined between each transducer and the output processing subsystem is an output transmission path associated with the individual transducer. The selector is configured to apply control signals to the transducer array to cause the array to have at least one selected transducer and at least one unselected transducer. The system is configured so that, for a selected transducer, the output transmission path for that transducer is enabled, so as to permit output signals to be transmitted from the selected transducer to the output processing subsystem. The system is further configured to isolate any unselected transducers, by disabling the output transmission path for such transducers, to thereby prevent transmission of output signals to the output processing subsystem.

Multiple-transducer sensor system and method with selective activation and isolation of individual transducers

A method of conveying information from an electronic identification label to an interrogator includes coupling energy from an external field into a resonant circuit of the electronic identification label. The method also includes the electronic identification label periodically storing and discharging an amount of the coupled energy wherein the period that the electronic identification label stores and discharges the energy conveys information about the electronic identification label to the interrogator.

A system and method for performing rupture event scanning and other sensing operations on a sample. The method includes providing a transducer with an immobilized binding partner material and a sample material disposed thereon. The sample material is applied to the immobilized binding partner material so that, if components in the sample material have sufficient affinity for the immobilized binding partner material, bonds will form between at least some of such components and the immobilized binding partner material. The method further includes accelerating the transducer to induce bond breakage, where such accelerating is performed by applying a drive signal to the transducer. The drive signal includes a waveform having multiple frequency components that are pre-selected based on expected resonance behavior of the transducer. The method may also include analyzing an output response of the transducer in response to application of the drive signal.
