A bioreactor vessel has an optical foam sensor () with a foam contact surface for contacting the foam to be detected. The foam contact surface is an inner side of a window () transparent to light from the visible and ultraviolet spectral range in an outer wall of the bioreactor vessel (). An outer side of the window () is coupled to an illumination and detection unit () with at least one first light source () of visible light and at least one photodetector () to detect light from the first light source () that is reflected in the bioreactor vessel (). The foam contact surface has a titanium dioxide coating () superhydrophilizable by photoactivation with ultraviolet light and the illumination and detection unit () has at least one second light source () of ultraviolet light.

A disposable sensor head for an optical sensor has a central body () with an axial through-channel () closed by a transparent viewing disk () oriented transversely with respect to its longitudinal direction, and a circumferential fastening flange (), by which the central body is fastenable in a sealing fashion on a wall of a flexible container () so that the through-channel () passes through the wall. The through-channel () forms in one section an open flow chamber () that is bounded on one side by the viewing disk () and on the other side by a reflector disk () arranged opposite the viewing disk ().

The invention comprises a transflexion probe for carrying out a transflexion measurement on a liquid located in a vessel, comprising a probe shaft () which is provided with a light guide path in its interior and at whose front end face there is arranged an open flow chamber () with a reflective plate () opposite the front end face of the probe shaft (). A sensor device has an optical sensor (), a container () and a compartmentalizer () that temporarily divides the container into a main space () and an adjacent space (), in which the optical sensor () is located. The adjacent space () can be united with the main space () after the sterilization as a result of the temporary compartmentalization. An optical sensor is provided with reduced sensitivity toward external light influences, fluorophores, and radiation, more particularly gamma radiation. The sensor is suitable for determining at least one parameter in a medium. The sensor has a matrix that contains a fluorescent dye. The matrix is supported by a transparent substrate and has a precious metal layer on the side facing the medium. The precious metal layer provides protection against photobleaching and radiation. The optical sensor is suitable for implementation in containers and laboratory products that are sterilized by gamma radiation, such as disposable bioreactors.

An optical is provided with reduced sensitivity to radiation, more particularly gamma radiation. The optical sensor is suitable for determining at least one parameter in a medium and includes a matrix containing a fluorescent dye. The matrix is supported by a transparent support. On the side facing the medium, the matrix has a layer soluble in the medium, which layer provides protection against radiation or damaging radiation products. The optical sensor is suitable for implementation in containers and laboratory products, such as disposable bioreactors for example, which are sterilized using gamma radiation.

The invention relates to a disposable bioreactor comprising a reversible, externally attachable sensor arrangement for measuring a physical variable of a contained medium. A sensor adapter () for receiving an electronic sensor arrangement () interacting with the medium cross-flowing the peripheral lines (), by means of an inner delimiting surface () of the sensor adapter, is integrated into at least one of the peripheral lines () of the bioreactor which is used to supply or discharge the medium. Said sensor adapter () is mounted on the peripheral line () as an insert extending the peripheral line () and which can be cross-flown by the contained medium.
