A heat pipe device () for cooling a voltage regulator () of a rotating electric machine. The heat pipe device () comprises an evaporating part () situated respectively in a hot zone and connected to the voltage regulator () of the machine, and condensation part situated in a cold zone. The heat pipe device () is suitable for an alternator or an alternator-starter. The heat pipe is provided to discharge the heat from the hot zone to the cold zone.

A cooling device comprising a heat pipe () which is provided with an electrically-isolating part () between the evaporating () and condensing () parts thereof, such that the hot and cold areas are isolated electrically from one another. The invention is suitable for an alternator or an alternator-starter.
