A flow body for a vehicle includes at least one planar skin section with an outer side, an inner side and at least one opening that penetrates the skin section, as well as at least one active flow control device that is designed for moving an air volume. The at least one active flow control device includes an air discharge section that is fluidically connected to the at least one opening, wherein the air discharge section and the at least one planar skin section are manufactured by a layer manufacturing process in the form an integral component that is free of joints, and wherein the air discharge section at least partially supports the skin section in a load-bearing fashion.

An aircraft comprising a fuselage extending along a longitudinal axis between a fore section and an aft section, wings mounted to the fuselage, a tail unit mounted to the aft section of the fuselage, and a first propulsion unit and a second propulsion unit both mounted to the aft section of the fuselage in such a way that a first axis of rotation of the first propulsion unit and a second axis of rotation of the second propulsion unit both extend in a vertical center plane spanned by the longitudinal axis and a yaw axis. The provided centerline mounted double-engine aircraft allows for a simple manufacture, maintenance and retrofit of the engines, in that the first propulsion unit and/or the second propulsion unit are arranged outside the fuselage.

A wing for an aircraft includes a leading edge and a wing tip extension extending from an end of a main wing region to a wing tip. The wing tip extension includes an arrangement of openings at least from the end of a main wing region to the wing tip along the leading edge, which openings are connected to an air conveying device for conveying air through the openings. Thereby in flight states with a low flight velocity the flow around a wing tip extension can be harmonized such that the drag is decreased and the lift of the wing is increased.

A surface element, e.g. a wing, of an aircraft includes a leading edge, a high lift device arrangement positioned along the leading edge and at least one add-on body positioned in a leading edge region, wherein the high lift device arrangement is interrupted in the region of at least one add-on body for preventing collision with the add-on body and wherein the surface element includes an arrangement of openings in a region covering the add-on body, which openings are connected to an air conveying device for conveying air through the openings. Thereby an additional flap for harmonizing the flow above a pylon or other add-on body can be eliminated.

Surface element for an aircraft, aircraft and method for improving high-lift generation on a surface element

A high lift system for an aircraft with at least one high lift flap arranged on each of the main wings of the aircraft. The high lift system includes an input device for the generation of flight phase-related requirements for the high lift flap. The high lift system further includes a control device, with a conversion function with which the flight phase-related requirements are converted into setting commands for the actuation of a lift device for the adjustment of the high lift flap. The conversion function is configured such that from a take-off requirement, a setting command to the drive device is generated with which the leading edge flap of the high lift flap is arranged in a set state in which a gap exists between the leading edge flap and the main wing with a gap width of between 0.1% and 0.4% relative to the local wing chord.

High lift system for an aircraft with a high lift flap and method for adjusting the high lift flap

A system for setting a span load distribution of a wing of an aircraft with a base flap system comprises at least one inboard flap element and one outboard flap element, which elements in the direction of the span are arranged on the trailing edge of the wing, and can be positioned relative to the span direction of the wing. The flap elements are not mechanically coupled with each other and are controlled independently of each other for the purpose of setting the span load distribution.

An aircraft wing trailing edge control surface including a trailing edge flap adjustable to different positions, a sealing flap on the upper side between the wing and the flap, and a ventilation flap on the underside between the wing and the flap. The flap is adjustable downward through positive positions and upward through negative positions. The wing profile is closed on the upper side by the sealing flap and the underside by the ventilation flap when the flap is used as a control flap and adjusted between negative and low positive positions. The ventilation flap releases air flow from the wing underside to the upper side of the flap and the sealing flap is retracted to release an outflow of air from the upper side of the flap when the flap is used for increasing lift and the flap is adjusted between low and high positive positions.

Advanced trailing edge control surface on the wing of an aircraft

An aircraft wing comprises a main wing with a pivotable trailing edge and a lift-assisting flap on the rear of the wing. The lift-assisting flap is coupled to the main wing and is designed in such a way that in its retracted state, the lift-assisting flap abuts the main wing and in an extended state, the lift-assisting flap forms an air gap with the main wing. The pivotable trailing edge is pivotable in such a way that, by pivoting the pivotable trailing edge, the shape and the width of the air gap are adjustable.
