A system and method to perform automatic testing of a device using Design-for-Test functionality built-in a pair of serializer/deserializer (SERDES) of the device to perform I/O characterization with respect to clock jitter in a self-test mode. Performance of a SERDES operating with jitter injected clock signal is characterized by forming a self-test loop-back configuration with another SERDES operating with a clean clock signal where the clean clock signal and the jitter injected clock signal are supplied by a simplified tester.

Fast SERDES I/O characterization

The present invention is directed to a system, software system and method for manipulating multimedia broadcast presentations. Manipulating multimedia events offers users increased options in how they experience multimedia presentations. Thus increasing the overall multimedia experience and consequently user satisfaction. Utilization of the present invention allows the user to experience combinations of media previously unavailable. For example, in implementations of the present invention, users may option various combinations of audio and video; including the rate at which a user experiences the media. Further, the user may text search to find starting and stopping points for recording, viewing and pausing operations. The user play programming allows the user to customize how a single media, such as audio, is experienced.

An integrated circuit including embedded test functionality. An integrated circuit may include a plurality of processor cores each configured to execute instructions, and a test access port configured to interface circuits included within the integrated circuit with a test environment external to the integrated circuit for testing of the circuits. The test access port may include virtualization logic configured to allow a first set of instructions executing on the given processor core to control activity of the test access port for testing of the circuits. In one embodiment, the circuits may be accessible for testing via a plurality of scan chains, wherein the scan chains and the test access port are compliant with a version of Joint Test Access Group (JTAG) standard IEEE 1149, and wherein the test access port includes a Test Data In (TDI) pin, a Test Data Out (TDO) pin, and a Test Clock (TCK) pin.

Integrated circuit with embedded test functionality

A settop box system for capturing and controlling live and recorded audio and video content. The system records digital and analog data from video and audio content, such as in a home entertainment center. The system records data from the content as specified and the data may be sequenced into clips that can be searched and indexed. A user may create comparison programs that allow searches of either pre-recorded or incoming content to be performed. In addition, the program allows editing of recorded programs, such as filtering of audio content or overlaying a video program with a different audio background. Multiple audio and video feeds may be handled simultaneously and the program's functions may be executed without viewing of the content being manipulated. The recorded content may also be indexed and even clips of the content may be indexed.

System and method for controlling audio and video content via an advanced settop box

Disclosed herein are methods and systems for generating test vectors for use in verification of a circuit design and for hardware testing on a fabricated circuit representative of the circuit design. The system and methods can systematically and automatically perform functional and structural testing on selected paths of the circuit design and, in turn, generate one or more test vectors to increase PDT test coverage using the results of the structural test on the selected path.

Method and system for automated path delay test vector generation from functional tests

An apparatus comprising a drive server, a control server and one or more decoder devices. The drive server may be configured to present one or more DVD data streams in response to one or more input signals. The control server may be configured to present one or more compressed data streams in response to the one or more data streams and one or more request signals. The decoders may be configured to present a decoded video signal and a decoded audio signal in response to one of the compressed data streams and the request signals. The navigation software, which traditionally is processed local to the decoder, may be processed on the control server. The control server may be enabled to control the remote decoder.

Enhanced personal video recorder

A circuit generally including a control function and a checksum function is disclosed. The control function may be configured to assert (i) a start signal in response to a signal having a predetermined sequence of values matching an entry value and (ii) a stop signal in response to the signal matching an exit value. The checksum function may be configured to (i) generate a checksum value for the signal between assertions of the start signal and the stop signal and (ii) generate a result signal in response to comparing the checksum value with an expected value.

Embedded sequence checking

An apparatus comprising an audio/video decoder and a storage device. The audio/video decoder may be configured to receive (i) one or more uncompressed audio signals and (ii) one or more compressed audio/video signals. The uncompressed audio signals may be tagged to the compressed audio/video signals and (ii) any of the one or more uncompressed audio signals and the one or more tagged compressed audio/video signals may be stored in the storage device and available for a playback relative to the tags.

System real-time analysis tool

A segment of audio/visual (A/V) content is extracted from the overall DVD content of a DVD program or disk. A DVD player with A/V segment extraction functionality receives commands from a user that identify start and stop points in the DVD content for the desired A/V segment and that specify each of the available DVD options or features which may be included in the extracted A/V segment. Relevant blocks of data within the DVD data structure of the DVD content are identified and new DVD-standard information for assembling a new complete DVD data structure containing only the extracted A/V segment and the available DVD options and features and additional non-DVD-standard information that can be played back on a conventional DVD player are added. The complete DVD data structure is assembled and either stored locally or sent to a remote destination device for remote playback, re-editing or other use.

Extraction of audio/visual segment from digital versatile disk content

The present invention provides an integrated circuit (IC). In one embodiment, the IC includes a substrate and a plurality of gate array blocks located on the substrate. Each of the blocks includes a programmable gate array (PGA) containing at least a portion of a circuit design in an interconnect layer thereof, and a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) coupled to the PGA and capable of containing a configuration that augments the portion of the circuit design. In this embodiment, the PGA and the FPGA cooperate to effect the circuit design. In another aspect, the present invention provides a method of designing an IC. In yet another aspect, the present invention provides a method of manufacturing ICs.

A profile-based system is described for verifying the functionality of a device design. In one embodiment, the system includes a profile generation module, a coverage measurement module, and a pattern generation module. The profile generation module operates from a rule set that represents the design specification and any applicable standards, and a profile mode that specifies 'interesting' aspects of test patterns for device design verification. The profile generation module determines an ordered set of variable values that specify a test pattern, and produces a profile that intelligibly describes the interesting aspects of the test pattern. The coverage measurement module analyzes the profile to determine coverage, and the analysis results may be operated on by the profile generation module to determine a profile for an improved test pattern. The pattern generation module converts the profile into a test pattern having the interesting aspects specified in the profile.

Functional-pattern management system for device verification

An apparatus comprising an input, a noise cancellation circuit, an audio circuit and a mixing circuit. The input may be configured to receive one or more input signals. The noise cancellation circuit may be configured to generate a first processed audio signal having reduced noise in response to the input signals. The audio circuit may be configured to generate a second audio signal from a digital source. The mixing circuit may mix the processed audio signal and the second audio signals to generate an output signal.
