A moisture-curable composition includes a polymer preparable by free-radical copolymerization of monomers comprising at least one monomer A and at least one monomer B. Monomer(s) A comprise free-radically polymerizable hydrolyzable silane. Monomer(s) B include a divalent group selected from the group consisting of &#x2014;(CFO)&#x2014;, &#x2014;(CFCFO)&#x2014;, &#x2014;(CFCFCFO)&#x2014;, &#x2014;(CFCFCFCFO)&#x2014;, &#x2014;(CFCF(CF3)O)&#x2014;, and combinations thereof, wherein a, b, c, d, and e represent integers in the range of from 0 to 130, and wherein 1&#x2266;&#x3c;a+b+c+d+e&#x2266;130. A composite article includes a layer of a composition on a substrate. The composition comprises a cross-linked reaction product of components including the moisture-curable composition. Methods of making the composite article are also disclosed.

The hexafluoropropylene oxide derived silane polymer has a molecular weight of greater than about 5500, a thickness of between about 2 and about 15 nanometers and a coefficient of friction constant of less than about 0.35. A water contact angle of the polymeric hexafluoropropylene oxide derived silane coating decreases by less than about 27% after being subjected to 10000 abrasion cycles.

The invention provides azeotrope-like compositions consisting essentially of R,OC,H,, where R,is a branched or straight chain perfluoroalkyl group having 4 carbon atoms, and an organic solvent selected from the group consisting of: straight chain, branched chain and cyclic alkanes having 6 to 8 carbon atoms; esters having 4 carbon atoms; ketones having 4 carbon atoms; disiloxanes having 6 carbon atoms; cyclic and acyclic ethers having 4 to 6 carbon atoms; chlorinated alkanes having 3 to 4 carbon atoms and chlorinated alkenes having 2 carbon atoms. The compositions are useful for cleaning, as solvents or carriers for coating and as heat transfer materials.
