A method for varying the width of a health care bed includes providing a health care bed having a floor engaging base frame and a bed frame, the bed frame including at least two bed sections hingedly connected to each other and each having a central frame portion and left and right wing sections, the wing sections having at least a retracted position and an extended position relative to the central frame portion, and wherein the central frame portion defines, for each wing section, at least inner and outer registration holes and the wing sections each define at least one wing hole that aligns with one of the at least inner and outer registration holes when the wing sections are in the respective retracted and extended positions, and for each wing section, at least one locking mechanism having at least one rocker bar with opposing inner and outer ends, at least one spring and at least one locking button for releasably locking the wing sections in the retracted and extended positions; unlocking the at least one locking mechanism of one of the wing sections by pushing the outer end of its rocker bar to move the opposing inner end and one of the locking buttons out of engagement with a corresponding and then aligned registration hole and wing hole; and then moving the one wing section to the desired extended or retracted position.

Health care bed with variable width bed frame and method for use thereof

A central bed having a single longitudinal bed frame and a bed section mounted to the frame for rotation about a substantially vertical axis between a home position aligned with the bed frame and an away position and with a lower leg bed section that is movable away from the central bed section to enable rotation of the central bed section.

A health care bed, including a floor engaging base frame and a bed frame including at least two bed sections hingedly connected to each other and having a central frame portion and left and right wing sections having at least a retracted position and an extended position relative to the central frame portion; and a locking mechanism with at least one rocker bar, at least one spring and at least one locking button for releasably locking the wing sections in the retracted and extended positions.

Health care bed frame

An articulating bed frame includes a main frame; a back section; first and second linkage assemblies, each being pivotally connected at spaced apart first and third ends to the back section and pivotally connected at opposing, spaced apart and respective second and fourth ends to the main frame; an upper leg section; a third linkage assembly pivotally connected at opposing fifth and sixth ends to the upper leg section and the main frame; a support link assembly connecting the upper leg section for sliding and pivotal movement with the main frame; a seat section pivotally connected at opposing ends to the back section and the upper leg section; a lower leg section pivotally connected to the upper leg section and freely supported atop a forward end of the main frame; a drive assembly connected between the back section and the third linkage assembly and operable to extend and retract to articulate the bed frame between a fully reclined position and a fully inclined position; and, a side rail assembly connected to the main frame and including a handle having a down position and an up position and including connection apparatus for permitting articulation between the down and up positions.

Articulating bed frame

An articulating bed frame includes a main frame; a back section connected to the main frame by first and second linkage assemblies, each of the first and second linkage assemblies being pivotally connected at first and third ends to the back section and pivotally connected at opposing respective second and fourth ends to the main frame; an upper leg section connected to the main frame by a third linkage assembly and a support link assembly, the third linkage assembly being pivotally connected at opposing fifth and sixth ends to the upper leg section and the main frame, respectively, and the support link assembly being rigidly connected at a seventh end to the upper leg section and being slidably and pivotably connected at an opposing eighth end to the main frame; a seat section pivotally connected at opposing ends to the back section and the upper leg section; a lower leg section pivotally connected to the upper leg section and freely supported atop a forward end of the main frame; and, a drive assembly connected at first and second connection ends to and between the back section and the third linkage assembly, the drive assembly being operable to extend and retract to move the first and second connection ends away and toward each other.

A saw mill includes a base frame having a front and a rear and being sized and configured to support a log; saw apparatus having a cutting blade and being connected with the base frame for horizontal movement in a cutting stroke from a start position near the front of the base frame to an end position near the rear of the base frame and in a return stroke back to the front of the base frame and being for cutting in a generally horizontal plane a board from the log; power apparatus for powering the saw apparatus; at least one pushback arm connected to the saw apparatus and being sized and configured to engage and eject the board from atop the log during the return stroke; and, a board guide apparatus extending generally forwardly from the saw apparatus and including a crossbar and plurality of fingers connected with the crossbar and positioned to engage and guide the board in a desired path as it is being ejected from the log, each finger including an upper link connected to the crossbar and a lower link hingedly connected with the upper link.

Saw mill with apparatus for guiding a board and method for use thereof

A gang mower assembly comprising a rigid frame elongated in the direction of forward movement of the assembly, the frame including a forward end portion, a central portion, and a trailing end portion. A central rotary mower deck is disposed adjacent the central portion and a universal joint for connecting the central deck to the central portion for at least limited universal movement relative to the frame about axes generally parallel to the frame and generally perpendicular to the frame is provided. The assembly further comprises at least one outboard rotary mower deck and at least one inboard rotary mower deck, and ground-engaging wheels for individually supporting each deck for independent movement relative to the frame. Each of the decks comprises a rotary blade assembly defining a centrally located, upwardly extending rotary axis and pulleys mounted on the axis to provide an input drive for the blade assembly. Means for positioning each deck relative to its adjacent deck is provided, each positioning means comprising a rigid link having first and second opposite link ends, means for attaching the first link end to one of the decks and means for movably attaching the second link end to an adjacent deck for at least limited swivel movement. A belt drive system for providing a driving connection from a driver to the deck pulleys is provided to drive the rotary blade assembly of each mower deck.

Articulating rotary mower

A sawmill has an elongated track extending longitudinally adjacent a platform for supporting a log. A carriage which carries a bandsaw is reciprocally movable along the track past the platform to cut the log with the bandsaw. The sawmill also has a clamp mechanism reciprocally movable laterally across the platform to clamp the log in place, which mechanism is movable between an upright position and a reclining position to provide a clamp for an uncut log and a clamp for a squared log. The sawmill also has a log turning mechanism and a log loading mechanism. The log loading mechanism includes two arms which are rotatable from the ground to the platform to load a log onto the platform. A hydraulic cylinder is coupled to each arm and acts against the ground to move the arms. The mechanisms are hydraulically actuated and the sawmill includes an electric motor which drives a hydraulic pump for providing pressurized hydraulic fluid to actuate the hydraulically actuated mechanisms. A source of electricity for powering the electric motor is carried on the carriage and is interlocked to the electric motor such that electricity is provided to the electric motor only when the carriage is in a predetermined position which is preferably at one end of the track.
