A feminine care device for collecting urine including a reservoir defining a recess for receiving urine. The reservoir has a rim and flange configured for periurethral sealing and adhesion to the labia minora, respectively. A tab depends from the reservoir for engagement and adhesion to the anterior vaginal wall. A drain for selectively draining urine from the reservoir is provided.

Urine retention and collection devices for incontinent women

An implantable device for controlling a body conduit including a cuff portion adapted to substantially encircle a body conduit. An inlet tube is operatively connected for delivering fluid to the cuff portion. The inlet tube has a one-way valve. An outlet tube is operatively connected to the cuff portion for releasing fluid therefrom and includes a normally closed valve. A pumping reservoir is in communication with the inlet tube and the outlet tube, wherein manipulation of the pumping reservoir inflates the cuff portion and manipulation of the normally closed valve deflates the cuff portion. An inflatable lumen surrounds the pumping reservoir and the cuff portion to provide rigidity and balance pressure between the cuff portion and the pumping reservoir.

Device for preventing fecal incontinence

An assembly of a breakaway needle and catheter is provided for injection by the user, using only one hand. The needle and catheter are inserted by the user, and the needle is then retracted from the puncture site leaving the catheter in place. As the needle is retracted, it breaks apart and separates from the catheter. The assembly includes adhesive coated taping wings to which the catheter is attached. Hence, when the taping wings are attached to the user's body following splitting of the needle, the catheter will be secured in place for long term use.

Assembly of breakaway needle and catheter

An assembly for connecting needles and catheters in I.V. applications, chemical analysis, etc., includes a leak proof, sterile, self-sealing septum from which the needle is inserted. When the needle is retracted from the septum, the septum will reseal and thus maintain a leak-proof, sterile seal. The assembly is therefore reuseable, and this represents a considerable cost saving for patients who require continuous therapy such as with diabetics, cancer patients, and the like. The assembly includes a distal end having an outlet bore through which a catheter is inserted. The proximal end of the assembly is connected to an external adaptor to which is attached a needle. The septum is positioned between the distal end and the proximal end to provide a self-sealing seal between the needle and the catheter. This external adaptor with needle may be part of a syringe or shaped to accommodate any standard connector such as a luer lock. Depending on the application, the fittings may be manufactured from a wide range of materials including plastics and metal. For example, as an inexpensive disposable item, the fitting would preferably be manufactured from molded plastic.

Assembly with septum fitting for connecting adaptor and fluid tube

A syringe driving unit comprising free pistons in interconnected cylindrical chambers, one of the pistons carrying a syringe plunger driver and being biased, directly or indirectly, in the driving direction, and one piston being movable to force both pistons into primed or loaded position, the connections between the chambers including a pressure regulator, flow regulator and a needle valve to regulate adjustably the return flow or hydraulic fluid corresponding to the movement of the driving piston. The priming piston may be moved mechanically or pneumatically, and fail-safe mechanism may be provided, if needed, to become effective in case of leakage. Bolus delivery, to augment optionally the adjusted flow, is also provided for.
