A stitchless baffle bulk bag including one or more baffle inserts that are heat sealed to a bag body using a hot melt film. A baffle insert includes a plurality of lateral straps spaced in between longitudinal panels. Tabs extend from the longitudinal panels into the space between lateral straps, above and below the lateral straps. The hot melt film is applied to at least a portion of the longitudinal panel and to the tabs, which is then heat sealed to the body under heat and pressure of heat seal bars. A hot melt sealed tab on both sides of the strap extending beyond the pivot point of the strap counters the forces of peel encountered by the strap and/or by a heat sealed joint of the tab or longitudinal panel.

Stitchless bulk bag including a baffle insert and method of production

A bottom and discharge assembly for a flexible fabric bulk bag of the type having heat sealed joints includes a piece of reinforcing fabric positioned under a heat sealed joint of a bottom portion and a discharge tube, around a periphery of a discharge tube opening and bottom opening that are each substantially square, wherein the reinforcing fabric prevents bag failure at or about at corners of the bottom opening and discharge tube opening. The assembly can be formed by overlapping the reinforcing fabric, discharge tube, and bottom portion so that the bottom is heat sealed to both a portion of the discharge tube fabric and a portion of the reinforcing fabric and wherein a portion of the reinforcing fabric is under the discharge tube and bottom joint, and wherein the discharge tube fabric and reinforcing fabric are not joined together.

A method of producing flexible polypropylene fabric bags with heat fused seams comprising providing fabric pieces, wherein each fabric piece has a coated side and an uncoated side; positioning fabric pieces so that a coated side of one fabric piece faces a coated side of another fabric piece; selecting an area of fabric to be joined for forming a seam or joint; applying heat to the area to be joined that is less than the melting point of the fabrics, for forming one or more seams or joints and wherein the heat fused seams or joints of a resulting polypropylene bag retains at least 85% of the fabric strength without using sewing machines.

Method of production of fabric bags or containers using heat fused seams

A discharge assembly for use with a flexible bag, e.g., a bulk bag, comprises a discharge spout coupled to a bottom panel of the bag, wherein the discharge spout is configured to be rolled. A releasable flexible fabric tape or tie secures the discharge spout in rolled configuration to the bottom panel to define a closed configuration for the discharge spout. In the closed configuration, material contents of the bag are contained within the bag. When contents of the bag are ready to be discharged, releasing the tape or tie causes the discharge spout to unroll and materials contained in the bag will flow therethrough. A discharge tube cover can also be provided that extends across the bottom panel and discharge tube. The discharge tube cover helps provide a flatter surface for the bag to rest upon, provides another level of closure to help prevent material contents of the bag from leaking, and can provide additional support and strength to the bag.

A lifting assembly and method for a flexible bag includes one or more lift members, wherein each lift member is coupled to a layer of material, e.g., a fabric layer. The fabric layer can be coupled to a flexible bag wherein the fabric layer is an intermediate layer between the lift member and the flexible bag. The fabric layer can be heat fused or otherwise coupled to a bag without stitching or sewing, which eliminates the creation of sew or stitch holes that breach a containment area of the bag and which can weaken the bag fabric. The one or more lift members, however, can be sewn or stitched to one or more intermediate layers.

A system and method for constructing any desired length of height linear cellular chain for use as a protective wall system, including a chain of fabric bulk bags, each having an open upper end, and interconnected along their sidewalls to define the cellular chain; and a fabric channel formed on the upper ends of each of the adjoining bags sidewalls for engaging a bag support and filling system, which includes a first metal frame member having a pair of arm members for threading through two adjacent fabric channels; the frame supported by a base member resting on the ground; a second metal frame member for receiving the distal ends of each of the arm members of the first metal frame member, at a level so that the bulk bag is supported by the arm members; bulk material to be poured into the supported bulk bag, to a level that the bag is substantially filled and no longer requires the support of the frame, so that the frame can be removed and positioned onto the next pair of fabric channels to fill the next empty bag.

A flood wall system and method of constructing same, including providing a first main panel section; attaching sleeves to each side of a main panel prior to configuring the final chamber; providing two sleeves of fabric at the upper opening of each chamber for supporting the chambers while they are filled with materials such as sand; providing a series of chambers sewn together to define a continuous cellular wall; the final chamber having a horizontal height which is two feet (0.6 m) longer than the vertical height further having a front toe portion one foot (0.3 m) in height; filling each chamber with a quantity of material, such as sand; on each end of a completed chain of chambers, further comprising a set of loops or ties so that a chain of chambers is capable of being tied to other chains of chambers to define the continuous flood wall system.

An improved bulkbag and method of making same, of the type having four sidewalls, a floor and top portion, all portions stitched together to define the enclosure for the bulk bag housing material. The bag comprises a plurality of four wall panels, which each panel having a first and second vertical edge for sewing into the next adjacent panel along each edge. Prior to sewing the panels together, to each upper edge of each panel there is provided a first and second leg of a lifting loop, so that each loop spans from the first edge to the second edge of each panel. The panels are then sewn together along their edges, and there is defined the bulk bag, with the ends of each of the four lifting loops terminating at the stitch line between panels, which define the middle of each sidewall of the bag. There would then be provided a reinforcement ring at each point where a pair of legs of lifting loops are stitched to strengthen the attachment point. Further there would be provided at each lifting loop attachment points a dart, or stacker seam to define the bottleneck feature of the bag. The lifting loop attachment points would define a vertical seam along the surface of the dart defined by the stacker seam. Further there is provided a back tack stitching feature to prevent spread forces in the filled bag, and reinforcing strapping in the loops to provide a stiffening feature to the loops.
