A manually operated ink stamp having a base with an open bottom and an aperture in the top wall. A box-like frame having an open bottom is disposed within the base and has a lower edge. A sleeve is connected to the upper portion of the frame and extends upwardly through the aperture in the base and is connected to a handle. The handle and frame are biased upwardly with respect to the base by a compression spring that is interposed between the handle and the base. Located within the frame is a die holder that carries a printing die impregnated with ink, and the lower surface of the die projects downwardly beyond the lower edge of the frame. A threaded adjustment is provided for adjusting the vertical position of the die holder and die with respect to the frame. Applying a force to the handle causes downward movement of the frame and die holder to bring the die into contact with the material to be printed and contact of the lower edge of the frame with the material provides a stop to limit further compression of the die and control the printing impression.

Ink stamp

An ink stamp having movable type bands. The stamp includes an outer housing having a die plate located at its lower end and carrying an ink impregnated stamp. A frame is mounted for vertical movement within the housing and carries a series of endless type bands with each band having a plurality of spaced type characters with the lowermost character in each band adapted to project through an opening in the die plate. An upper handle or knob is connected to the frame and by pulling upwardly on the handle, the frame and bands can be raised above the die plate to a position where the bands can be rotated to change the lowermost type characters, as desired. The stamp also has a provision to adjust the heights of the type bands relative to the outer housing to insure that the lowermost operating type character is at a level flush with the lower surface of the stamp in the die plate.

Type band ink stamp

A method and apparatus for producing printing patterns through the use of a liquid photosensitive resin system. A partially cured resin backing member is applied to a vertical supporting surface and a glass cover plate having a photographic negative mounted on the glass surface is positioned in spaced relation to the backing member. A liquid uncured photosensitive resin is introduced into the space between the backing member and the photographic negative, and an ultra-violet lighting unit is then positioned adjacent the glass cover plate to expose portions of the resin to the light through the photographic negative, causing the exposed portions of the resin to cure or crosslink. The lighting unit is oscillated to provide tapered edges on the exposed crosslinked areas of the resin. Following the crosslinking, the pattern can be removed and the uncured portions of the resin can be washed from the pattern.

Method and apparatus for producing printing patterns

Following the crosslinking, the pattern can be removed and the uncured portions of the resin can be washed from the pattern.
