The current invention includes an additive manufactured electrode that may be used for a flow battery system. In some embodiments, the electrode may include a composite material and/or at least one flow channel to direct, or at least influence, flow of electrolyte. The flow channel can be formed onto a surface and/or within a body of the electrode, and may be used to generate fluid pathways that cause the electrolyte to flow in a certain manner. The composite material may include a rigid core and a flexible compressible outer layer that may improve reactions zones, enhance mechanical properties, and/or provide low-pressure paths for electrolyte to flow.

Additive manufactured electrode for flow battery

A self-sealing flow frame is provided having a first frame component and a second frame component. Each frame component is provided with a tongue-and-groove configuration that when assembled forms a tessellation engagement, which creates the seal. When each frame component is assembled into a flow frame, with the inner surfaces facing towards each other, the tongue-and-groove arrangements create a seal profile that circumscribe constituent parts of a device within which the self-sealing flow frame is being employed. As the frame components are compressively secured and fastened together, a tessellation engagement of the seal profile forms the fluid seal. Fluids of the device are prevented from exfiltrating the device, and are contained within the self-sealing flow frame by the fluid seal.

A system for converting a waste stream to energy including a water purification device that outputs purified water and a waste stream that includes an electrolyte, a wind and electrolytic energy generation device that receives the waste stream from the water purification device and outputs energy based on the electrolyte present in the waste stream and a power distribution system which receives and stores the energy from the wind and electrolytic energy generation device. The water purification device is further connected to the power distribution system and receives energy enabling further operation of the water purification device.

Energy generation system and related uses thereof

A self contained energy generating system that comprises a galvanic battery and a power distribution system. The energy generating system is used to purify water by using a reverse osmosis device that draws in a source of water and transfers electrolytes to the galvanic battery. Upon contact with the electrolyte, the galvanic battery produces energy by an oxidation-reduction reaction of the cathode and anode and transfers energy to the power distribution system, which in turn provides power to the osmosis device. Additionally, the system includes a hydrogen fuel cell to increase the amount of energy generated and a power storage device for storing excess energy generated. The system also includes a controller which is configured to regulate the overall operation of the system.
