A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system includes multiple circuit components that enable determining that a refrigerant leak is present in the HVAC system based on a signal. The circuit components then send a first set of instructions to a first set of control systems associated with one or more fans in response to the refrigerant leak being present. The first set of instructions causes the one or more fans to activate. The system then determines that the refrigerant leak signal is no longer present, and initiates a counter to detect when a period of time has passed in response to determining that the refrigerant leak signal is no longer present. The system then sends a second set of instructions to the first control system to cause the fans to return to base operating conditions in response to the counter indicating the period of time has passed.

Systems and methods for leak detection and management in heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems

An environmental building sensor, the environmental building sensor including a sensing device configured to measure an environmental condition of a building, an output connection between one or more circuits of the environmental building sensor and an external device, the output connection connected to an input impedance of the external device, and one or more circuits. The one or more circuits are configured to detect a feedback voltage, the feedback voltage based on the input impedance, determine, based on the feedback voltage, whether the external device is configured to receive an analog current input or an analog voltage input from the environmental building sensor, and generate the analog current input or the analog voltage input based on the environmental condition measured by the sensing device and provide the analog current input or the analog voltage input to the external device via the output connection.

Building sensor with self-configuring analog output circuit with fault detection

A sensor device including a housing and a number of sensors. The housing includes a back plate including a mounting surface, a middle plate attached to the back plate, and a face plate attached to the middle plate, wherein the face plate is formed from a clear material and has a back surface and a front surface with the back surface positioned toward the middle plate and wherein a design is applied to the back surface of the face plate and is visible through the front surface of the face plate. The housing defines an interior housing volume and the number of sensors is positioned within the interior housing volume.

A HVAC controller located within a building zone includes a housing, a wireless radio, a controller monitor, a temperature sensor, and a temperature compensation module. The wireless radio is contained within the housing and is configured to transmit data via a wireless HVAC network. The controller monitor is configured to detect wireless activity of the wireless radio, the wireless activity generating heat inside the housing and causing a temperature inside the housing to exceed a temperature of the building zone outside the housing. The temperature sensor is configured to measure the temperature inside the housing. The temperature compensation module is configured to determine a wireless heat rise resulting from the wireless activity, to calculate a temperature offset based on the wireless heat rise, and to determine the temperature of the building zone outside the housing by subtracting the temperature offset from the temperature measured inside the housing.
