A building management system (BMS) includes building equipment operable to affect a physical state or condition of a building and a gateway device configured to couple to the building equipment via a wireless master slave/token passing (MS/TP) bus or a wired MS/TP bus. The gateway device is configured to communicate building data to a cloud-based platform including a hub configured to receive the building data, a plurality of cloud applications, wherein the plurality of cloud applications are configured to receive the building data from the hub and process the building data to provide a building data output. The cloud-based platform is configured to communicate the building data output to and receive a command based on the building data output from at least one of a control application, an analytic application, or a monitoring application. The gateway device is further configured to operate according to the command.

Building management system with multi-interface gateway

A building management system (BMS) includes building equipment operable to affect a physical state or condition of a building, a gateway device coupled to the building equipment, and a network adapter removably coupled to the gateway device. The network adapter couples the gateway device to a cloud-based platform. The cloud-based platform is configured to receive building data from the gateway device via the network adapter, and includes a hub to receive the building data and a plurality of cloud applications configured to receive the building data from the hub and process the building data to provide a building data output. A building management system (BMS) includes building equipment operable to affect a physical state or condition of a building coupled to a gateway device configured to communicate building data from the building equipment to a cloud-based platform according to a data control template configured to control a data rate between the gateway device and the cloud-based platform. The cloud-based platform includes a hub to generate a virtual device twin comprising the data control template and configured to receive the building data and represent the gateway device on the cloud-based platform, as well as plurality of cloud applications configured to provide a building data output. The cloud-based platform is configured to communicate the building data output to and receive a command from at least one of a control application, an analytic application, or a monitor application. The gateway device further configured to operate according to the command.

Systems and methods for data control in a building management system

A building management system includes a communications bus, and devices coupled to the communications bus. The devices are coupled to the communications bus and configured to communicate on the communications bus using a master-slave token passing protocol. A first one of the devices has an active node table stored therein. The active node table includes multiple nodes. Each node represents one of the devices participating in a token passing ring used to exchange information among the devices via the communications bus using the master-slave token passing protocol. The first device is configured to monitor the active node table for new nodes and to identify a new device communicating on the communications bus in response to a determination that the active node table includes a new node.

A controller in a building management system (BMS) includes an integrated wireless network processor. The integrated wireless network processor includes a wireless radio, a processor, and memory. The wireless radio is configured to exchange data communications with one or more BMS devices controlled by the controller. Both the processor and memory are in communication with the wireless radio. The memory includes communication stacks configured to facilitate communications using a building automation and control network communications protocol and a Wi-Fi communications protocol. The integrated wireless network processor is configured to provide a web page for rendering on the user device using the WiFi communications protocol.

A building management system including a system manager, a zone coordinator, and one or more zone controllers configured to monitor and control building zones. The system manager includes a system bus datalink having an active node table stored therein. The zone coordinator includes a second system bus datalink and a zone bus datalink. A system bus connects the first system bus datalink to the second system bus datalink. A zone bus connects the zone bus datalink to the one or more zone controllers. The active node table includes a plurality of nodes, each node representing a system bus device communicating on the system bus. The system manager is configured to monitor the active node table for new nodes and to identify a new system bus device communicating on the system bus in response to a determination that the active node table includes a new node.

A thermostat includes a motherboard, a first modular board, and a display. The motherboard is configured to perform a thermostat function and generate a user interface a user interface including information relating to the thermostat function. The first modular board is configured to be added to the thermostat by coupling the first modular board to the motherboard and to be removed from the thermostat by decoupling the first modular board from the motherboard. The first modular board is configured to supplement the thermostat function performed by the motherboard when the first modular board is coupled to the motherboard. The display is communicably coupled to the motherboard. The display is configured to display the user interface. The motherboard is configured to adaptively reconfigure the user interface to include supplemental information provided by the first modular board in response to coupling of the first modular board to the motherboard.
