The present disclosure is directed towards systems and methods for performing an on-line database search, which comprises receiving a personal device request signal from a personal device. In response to receipt of the personal device request signal, a first piece of information from a first public records database is identified and a second piece of information from a second public records database is identified. A report is generated associated with the first piece of information and the second piece of information. A report signal associated with the report is then transmitted to the personal device.

Systems and methods for searching remote databases

A method, apparatus, system, and computer product for monitoring emission data transmitted over a network. A computer system collects emission data received from sensor devices over the network. The computer system compares the emission data to a set of thresholds for the emission data to form a comparison between the emission data and the set of thresholds. The computer system changes a collection of additional emission data from the sensor devices over the network based on the comparison between the emission data and the set of thresholds.

In one embodiment, the orthotic device can include a powered hand portion, a switching element, and a controller. The wearer can interact with the switching element to generate input signals for adjusting an operation of the powered hand portion. The controller can receive the input signals and generate control signals to accordingly adjust the operation of the powered hand portion. In some embodiments, a powered hand portion can be comprised of a plurality of linkages and at least one powered actuator to assist with an opening and closing of the hand portion. The plurality of linkages can be operated by at least one electric motor with quick-connect elements to link onto fingers of a user. In some embodiments, an electrically-actuated clutch mechanism can be affixed to an upper arm section and a lower arm section of an orthotic device. The clutch mechanism can be configured into different positions.

The example embodiments are directed to a system and method which can reduce the number of requests to a web mapping service. In an example, the method may include receiving a processing request from a field service software application for a route distance between a source field service location and a target field service location, identifying a sub-area of the web map in which the source field service location is located and a sub-area of the web map in which the target field service location is located, approximating the route distance between the source field service location and the target field service location based on a previously determined distance between a representative point of the sub-area which includes the source field service location and a representative point of the sub-area which includes the target field service location, and outputting route guidance based on the approximate route distance.

Exemplary embodiments are generally directed to navigable layering of viewable areas corresponding to a hierarchical structure of computer-readable content. In exemplary embodiments, a stack of viewable areas including a first viewable area and a second viewable area can be rendered on a display within a footprint area. An order of the viewable areas in the stack can correspond to a hierarchical relationship of computer-readable content and the viewable areas can include information associated with the hierarchical relationship. The second viewable area in the stack can be adjusted, for example, by resizing and/or repositioning the second viewable area, based on a compression criteria to accommodate the viewable areas of the stack within the footprint.

The first document comprises an authoritative comment regarding a second document and has been explicitly linked to the second document. Then, one or more third documents are identified. Based upon the authoritative comment, the first document is implicitly linked to the one or more third documents via the common information.

In one embodiment, an annotation to be carried over between multiple versions may include both a document file indicator and a surrounding text indicator associated with a document file in a version. The document file indicator may be used to determine whether a corresponding document file exists in a differing version. If the document file exists in the differing version, the surrounding text indicator may be used to determine whether the surrounding text exists within the differing version. If the surrounding text exists, the annotation may be inserted at the corresponding location in the differing version. Differing versions may be maintained on the access device based on whether each of the differing versions is a major or minor version. Versions of the electronic book and related annotations may be stored on or off-device.

Provided is an apparatus for use with a rear-wheel driven motorized wheelchair. The apparatus enables a motorized wheelchair to be used in areas that would not otherwise be possible. A motorized wheelchair, though very useful and necessary, has several mobility drawbacks. Lateral movement poses a problem to the motorized wheelchair. This apparatus provides a modification to existing rear-wheel driven motorized wheelchairs that allows the user to maneuver in tight spaces by providing a for sideways movement that would not be possible in conventional wheelchair designs.
