A ceiling fan includes a rotatable hub adapted to be suspended from the ceiling. The hub includes at least one fan blade adapted for rotating with the hub. An uplight module is provided having a plurality of different lights, each of the plurality of lights for producing a different type of light incident on the ceiling. The uplight module may include a modular circuit board assembly comprising a main board including one or more LEDs and one or more auxiliary boards connected to the main board and including one or more UV LEDs, whereby adaptation for producing germicidal energy can be achieved without dismounting the ceiling fan from the ceiling. A controller may be provided for controlling the light intensity or temperature, including from pre-selected values. Related methods are also disclosed.

One method for ejecting a battery from an electric flying vehicle includes monitoring one or more batteries providing power to the electric flying vehicle during a flight, determining when at least one of those batteries is operating as a hazardous battery posing a safety risk to the electric flying vehicle while in flight, activating an ejection system disconnecting the hazardous battery from a chassis of the electric flying vehicle, and ejecting the hazardous battery from the electric flying vehicle during the flight. The system operating this process may include a sensor that monitors the operating state of the batteries, a controller in communication with the sensor for determining when the one or more of the batteries is hazardous, and an actuator opening enough of the housing to permit ejection of the hazardous battery out from within the electric flying vehicle midflight.

Systems and methods for ejecting batteries from an electric flying vehicle

A fan for generating germicidal light is disclosed, which may be adapted to mount to a ceiling. The fan includes a hub connected to a plurality of fan blades. A motor is adapted to rotate the hub. A support is adapted to support the hub and motor from the ceiling. A lighting module may include a tray adapted to receive the support, the tray including one or more lights for providing ultraviolet germicidal light. The light may be provided by LEDs on a circuit board adapted for positioning around the support without dismounting the support from the ceiling, such as one comprised of wedge-shaped segments. The modular circuit board may form part of an uplight module supported by a housing for the motor.
