The invention concerns a liquid crystal display device comprising first display electrodes (31-48) and a set of second elongated display electrodes (50-56) formed on a first substrate (11;250) (10;251), and a set of elongated counter electrodes (70-129; 300-359) formed on a second substrate (10;251) facing the first substrate (11;250) and superposed with said second display electrodes (50-56) so as to create a matrix display of display elements. The counter electrodes (70-129; 300-359) are juxtaposed along substantially their whole length. The counter electrodes are also superposed with the first display electrode so as to display a fixed display symbol. Furthermore, the distance separating the counter electrodes (70-129; 300-359) from each other is substantially less than the width of said first display electrode (31-38).

This holder (2) for a replacement battery (12) for a watch, in addition to a housing for holding such battery, includes means (15) for gaining access to the watch battery which is to be exchanged. Accessory thereto, the holder may serve as a key holder and present the advantage of of always being carried by the person wearing the watch. The holder is in two parts: a sheath (17) in which a drawer (18) is fitted, such drawer bearing the replacement battery (12) and an incorporated tool (15) which enables extraction of the exhausted battery from the watch.

This wristwatch includes a watch case (1), time displaying means (3, 4) and an energization cell (5). The cell can be fitted into a lateral opening (10) giving access to a housing formed in the watch case. The cell is carried by a drawer (6) which is fixed to the end of one of the strands (7) of the bracelet. Locking means (11) maintain the drawer attached to the watch case once said drawer is introduced into the housing in the watch case.

A wristwatch for receiving messages broadcast by radio, includes the assembly of a movement, a caseband (4) and a back cover (44). The movement comprises a baseplate (13) receiving: a display means (1, 2), a first power cell for controlling the time display a message display cell (16), a first crystal (21), electronic circuits (18), a casing (24) for receiving a second power cell (25) and an antenna formed by a coil including turns (23) wound around the movement and bearing on the first crystal and on the casing. The caseband includes a second crystal (41) and caps the upper part of the movement. The back cover overlays the lower part of the movement and is provided with a side opening (47) giving access to the second power cell to enable changing thereof.

An electromagnetic stepping motor has a stator assembly comprising two pieces. These two pieces are assembled to each other by a protrusion of cylindrical shape of one of the pieces which engages in a recess, of corresponding shape, in an extension of the other piece. The two pieces, which are of elongated general shape, are disposed parallel to each other with said one piece constituting the core of an energizing coil of the motor. The coil can be wound directly on to the piece of the stator constituting the core of the coil.

An electronic watch movement is formed from a flexible substrate which is enabled to fit the relief of the watch movement frame by openings formed therein. A conductive metal coating is affixed on the substrate covering the openings, and portions of the coating are removed to form an electric conductor grid with some coating sections left over some openings. The coating support the substrate between the openings and mount the substrate in the frame by bending so that the coating supports sections to conform to the frame relief.

Electronic watch movement

An electronic watch module and method of manufacturing the module. The module is formed from a flexible film by forming a set of appropriately located, sized and shaped component openings in the film, forming a second set of terminal lead bonding openings for the components, securing a metallic foil to said film, removing portions of said foil to form a pattern of interconnection leads for said components leaving portions over said bonding openings, locating the components in the respective openings with the component leads in registry with their respective interconnection leads, and bonding the foil leads to the component leads through the bonding openings.
