Disclosed herein are two-component polyurethane adhesive systems comprising a mixture of primary and secondary diamines.

Polyurethane adhesive for bonding crosslinked rubber

One-component, moisture-curable polyurethane adhesives exhibit excellent handling strength before being fully cured, and excellent creep properties after curing. The adhesives include an isocyanate-terminated prepolymer made from polyols that include a crystalline polyester and hydroquinone bis (2-hydroxyethyl) ether, and a polyoxazolidine compound.

One-component hot melt polyurethane adhesive

Moisture-curable, one component adhesives contain an isocyanate-terminated prepolymer, a low molecular weight polyisocyanate compound, a hydrolysable mercaptosilane, a urethane catalyst and a carbon black filler. The adhesives exhibit an excellent combination of high modulus, excellent hydrolytic and heat stability, and high sag resistance.

An additive manufactured article is comprised of at least two adhered layers of extrudates () comprised of a thermoset material having therein a phase change material, wherein the phase change material undergoes a phase change at a temperature less than where the thermoset material decomposes. The article may be made by dispensing a mixture comprised of an organic reactive material and phase change material forming extrudates that are 3D printed into an article having multiple layers of extrudates bound together and then allowing the organic reactive material to react forming a thermoset material having therein the phase change material to form the additive manufactured article. The shape of the article may be changed by heating to a temperature above the temperature where the phase change material undergoes a phase change while applying a force and then cooling below the phase change temperature. Likewise, the original shape may be returned by merely heating above the phase change temperature and then cooling in the absence of a force being applied.

Thermoset additive manufactured articles incorporating a phase change material and method to make them

The adhesive system of the invention is especially useful in bonding replacement windows into vehicles. They allow for sufficient working time while still realizing a fast drive away time. The adhesive system is comprised of a moisture curable adhesive and a cure accelerator that may be applied using a simple single caulk gun and may be applied at ambient temperatures such as &#x2212;10&#xb0; C. and about 45&#xb0; C. The cure accelerator is comprised of a polyol having a backbone that has at least one amine in the backbone. The moisture curable adhesive typically is comprised of an isocyanate terminated prepolymer.

High modulus urethane adhesive compositions, manufacture and use thereof

An additive elastomeric manufactured part having improved surface finish is made by repeatedly extruding through a nozzle to build up layers of a material comprised of a prepolymer comprised of an isocyanate terminated prepolymer and a filler in an amount such that the material has a shear storage modulus G' of 100,000 to 300,000 Pa measured at an oscillation rate of 1 Hz and a relaxation time of 20 seconds to 360 seconds. It has been discovered that the particular material having these rheological properties is able to improve the surface finish of the additive manufactured part without slumping and is believed to be due to surface flow of material into valleys between the extrudates as they are being built up.

Method for improving the surface finish of additive manufactured articles

An isocyanate terminated prepolymer has been discovered that has sufficiently low glass transition temperature (Tg), necessary rheological properties and mechanical properties that allows for the making of adhesive compositions useful for bonding substrates into larger structures (e.g., windows in vehicles and buildings) with minimal or no plasticizers. The polyether prepolymer comprises a polyisocyanate reaction product of a polyisocyanate having an isocyanate functionality of greater than 2 and a polyether monol having an average molecular weight (Mw) of 1000 to 2000 g/moles and said prepolymer having: (i) a weight molecular weight average (Mw) of about 2000 to about 30,000 g/mole, (ii) a free isocyanate content of 0.8% to 4% by weight of said prepolymer, and (iii) viscosity of 1000 to 50,000 centipoises.

Polyurethane prepolymers having little or no plasticizer and their use in vehicular glass adhesives

A composition comprising: a one part adhesive composition comprising a) one or more isocyanate components; b) one or more catalysts for the reaction of isocyanate groups with active hydrogen containing groups; c) one or more fillers which do not enhance the formation of voids during curing; d) one or more fillers having basic character; and a cure accelerator comprising: e) one or more liquid carriers; f) water; and g) one or more paste forming agents. The one part adhesive composition may be used alone where ambient temperature and humidities afford reasonably rapid cure rates. The cure accelerator may be used when temperatures and/or humidities are sufficiently low such that the cure rate of the adhesive alone is not acceptable for a particular use.

Fast curing adhesive useful for bonding to glass

A two-component reactive dispensing system that is pliable is comprised of an outer sausage tubular member having therein an inner sausage tubular member in which the inner tubular member is bonded to the inner surface of the outer sausage tubular member longitudinally along a portion of the outer surface of the inner tubular sausage member. The compartments formed by the inner and outer tubular sausage members are filled with materials that are reactive with each other and the ends are sealed by gathering the ends and sealed using, for example wire wrap around clips.

Latex-based compositions, and methods of forming the same, that are useful to dampen noise and vibrations, are disclosed. The compositions can be applied to and adhered to a substrate. The compositions comprise latex and at least one filler. The compositions form microcracks during drying and/or curing to aid in the removal of water from the compositions.
