Electrical connection systems () for electronic devices () are disclosed. In one embodiment, a male electrical connector () includes a male housing portion () and at least a first magnet () carried by the male housing portion (). The first magnet () includes a curved contact surface () configured to abut with a female electrical receptacle (). At least a first resilient electrical contact () is carried by the male housing portion () for making an electrical connection with the female electrical receptacle (). The first magnet () and the first resilient electrical contact () are disposed in a parallel configuration along a transverse axis of the male housing portion ().

Magnetic electrical connection system for an electronic device

A user interface () comprises a layered structure defining one or more keys (). The layers can include a top layer (), a base layer (), and an interior layer () disposed therebetween. One or more layers are pliant and can be compressed. Magnetically permeable materials () form a closed loop (). A corresponding coil () is operable with the loop. Electrical properties of the closed loop change in response to user input. A control unit () is then configured to detect a change in the electrical properties when the pliant material is compressed. Where the change is greater than a predefined threshold, the control unit () discharges an energy storage device into the coil to provide a haptic response ().

User interface for electronic devices and methods therefor

An improved mobile electronic device is disclosed. The mobile electronic device () can include: a housing () including a front cover () and a rear cover (), the rear cover () configured to interconnect with the front cover (), defining an enclosure () for electrical components; a plurality of connectors () located on walls () of the front cover () and rear cover (); the plurality of connectors () including a male portion () and a female portion () being substantially complementarily configured to receive the male portion (). Advantageously, the connectors (): provide a resilient interconnection, forming a robust housing; take up a minimal amount of room in the enclosure (), for maximizing the area available for electronic component placement therein; and help to allow the profile, from the front cover () to rear cover (), to be designed ultra thin.
