Apparatuses, systems, and methods for manufacturing grooved wire are provided. A set of rollers may form grooves on an outermost surface of a wire along an axial distance of the wire. The set of rollers may include a first roller and a second roller. The first and second roller may include groove-fabricating portions aligned circumferentially around a radial face of each of the rollers. The first roller and second roller, via the groove-fabricating portions, may form grooves on the outermost surface of the wire along the axial direction of the wire.

An airborne component extraction system includes a source of a positive pressure air stream and a source of a negative pressure air stream. The air streams are directed through conduits to a hood that distributes the positive pressure air stream into a work area, and that draws the negative pressure air stream from the work area to remove airborne components within the work area. Aspects of the hood offer greatly enhanced performance in creating a controlled region for component removal and for drawing and removing the components for the work area.

A extraction system is designed for metal working and other applications. The system may comprise a cart-type base or may be incorporated into a fixed or semi-fixed installation. A blower delivers a positive pressure airflow to a hood that creates an air region by directing the air through an annular space between inner and outer shrouds, impacting the air against a single generally perpendicular flange. Return air from the operation may be mixed with fresh air, both of which may be filtered, to supply the positive pressure air. Both air streams to and from the hood may be adjusted to optimize operation. Adjustments may be made at the base unit or remotely.

A full-round head nail having an offset head is configured with a gusset formed integrally between an undersurface of the offset head and a superior portion of a shank. The head of the nail is relatively thin, and the shank is positioned radially off center of the round head such that no heel is formed at a point tangential to both the head and the shank. The gusset has a lofted surface tapering radially from a roundness at the zero heel to a taper at the toe. The gusset reinforces the junction of the shank with the head, supports the toe of the head, and distributes the force of a load on the head through a longitudinal axis of the shank, preventing the toe from bending or yielding and prevents the shank from yielding to the stresses of the load applied.

Apparatus and method of making a heel-less nail

A fastener assembly includes a row of fasteners having a head, a tip, and a portion of a shank coated with a polymer composition. The polymer composition includes a polymer material such as polyurethane and metal particles. The polymer composition is used to provide improved corrosion and ultraviolet radiation resistance when used with naturally corrosive or pressure preservative treated wood. The fastener assembly is coated with the polymer composition by vacuum coating a dispersion of the polymer composition in a solvent such as water and removing the solvent.

A plurality of rollers for producing longitudinal grooves in an elongated metal substrate, the plurality of rollers comprising a first set and a second set of rollers, the plurality of rollers having groove-forming fluted edges thereon. The plurality of rollers are aligned circumferentially around and parallel to a longitudinal axis of the elongated metal substrate, wherein the plurality of rollers are configured to produce an odd number of grooves distributed asymmetrically about a circumference of the elongated metal substrate.

Method and device for the manufacture of multiple grooved wire

A quick release and connect nozzle assembly for use with a material dispensing head including a nozzle engagement member on a portion of the dispensing head, a nozzle member having an aperture therethrough for operable communication with the dispensing head to provide dispensing of the material in a predetermined pattern, and a connecting member integral with the nozzle member for engagement with the engagement member of the dispensing head, wherein the connecting member is operable by hand and provides quick release and connection of the nozzle member from the dispensing head so as to enable cleaning or replacement of the nozzle member as desired.

An easy-open container includes a membrane forming the top edge of the container and hermetically sealing the contents thereof. Elements for opening the container are disposed on the membrane, and includes a first bead of thermoplastic material and a first perforated line for tearing across the membrane. In one embodiment the membrane is disposed inward from the mouth of the bag, leaving portions of the bag walls extending upward beyond the container top edge to form guide rails which facilitate opening of the container. One guide rail is removed as the bag is opened and remaining portions of the bag walls are offset to enhance access to the bag contents. A membrane for sealing the mouth opening of a bag-like structure is also provided, as are methods for making an easy-open container and for making a membrane having the strcutures aforesaid.

The membrane is disposed inward from the mouth of the bag, leaving portions of the bag walls extending upward beyond the container top edge to form guide rails which facilitate opening of the container to gain access to the bag contents. A method for making a membrane as aforesaid and a method for making an easy-open container having the structure aforesaid are also provided.
